Landed in Hamburg late after stopping to catch the World Cup match, and luckily found a campsite in the city centre. It was right next to a McDonalds So, Ruaidhri decided to introduce the first “food challenge” into the trip.
Sunday, Day 4 of the epic roadtrip across Europe. Managed to finally get out of Belgium and into Germany just in time to watch the World Cup match and see the celebrations in Germany! Crazy, fun times!
Well, after our fun on the Cork – Swansea ferry, we crossed Wales and the UK and managed to get a late train through the Eurotunnel into France. Some crazy traffic jams, Friday evening around London on the M25 but we made it!
At this stage, we are getting used to life in the Campervan and each other! It may not look it from the vid, but its very VERY hot!!
Day 1 of the Wife Carrying Team marathon trip to Finland involved leaving Cork on the Fastnet Line ferry to Swansea…great fun on board, with a wedding ceremony and all!!
Great piece in the Irish Examiner today from Eoin English with a fab photo which we shot the evening before we left Cork at Blackrock Castle Observatory – who incidentally do weddings!! Check their availability for this unusual Cork Civil Wedding Venue
We have been pretty lucky with the number of companies who have rowed in behind the WeddingDates wife carriers and sponsored us and we are delighted to have the guys suits given to us by Tom Murphy Menswear in Cork. Tom Murphys has a longstanding reputation in Cork City and now they are moving beyond the boundaries of their bricks and mortar shop and have gone online!
On www.tom-murphy.ie you can view their selection of wedding suits, buy suits and accessories online, and keep up to date with their blog. Check out the WeddingDates “models” (!) as they got kitted out in the shop and hear from the man himself – Tom Murphy:
Remember, you can also check out wedding suit hire on our handy supplier directory.
