Don’t Forget The Groom! Creative Ways To Include Him…

So, you are busy with your wedding planning, the hen party is organised, the bridesmaids are helping out and everything is falling into place.

Out of the blue your Husband-to-Be announces that he would like his favourite song played at the reception and his cousin to be an usher at the ceremony.
How dare he?
Does he not realize that for months (maybe even years) you have been planning your wedding day?
You have everything under control. You have dreamt of your wedding day. After all, it is your wedding. Right? Wrong! The wedding is about two people; the bride and the groom.

There are lots of ways to get your Husband-to-Be involved in the planning:
Is your groom creative? Perhaps he will have great ideas on making your wedding “extra special” and personal?
Is your groom a “foodie”? Perhaps he has some ideas on your wedding reception meal.
Is your groom good with budgets? Ask him to keep track of everything. (Or maybe not!)
Is he a wine connoisseur? Ask him to handle this aspect of the wedding.
Give your groom some groom power. It is a website full of tips on speech writing, honeymoon planning, stag parties and lots lots more!

Also, why not plan a surprise for him?

There are so many ways in which you can surprise your groom on your wedding day.

Allow him the pleasure of wearing his converse comfy shoes!

5. Attend the Cake Tasting

Have a look at the menu plans and have some input, you don’t want to be sitting there on your Wedding Day, asking for Steak when they offer you Salmon

7. Impress the in-laws
Sending the mothers roses on the wedding morning is a winning idea! And a round of golf with the Father?

8. Select Gifts
Show off your generous side, get some gifts for your Groomsmen and people who helped with the wedding, Parents etc.

9. Sort the Wedding Day Transportation
Keep in theme with the Wedding as a whole, don’t pick a stretch Hummer if the theme is very classical!

10.Show up and don’t forget the rings!
The most important of all!

I was speaking to a groom recently. It was three days after his return from honeymoon. He said that if he could do it again, he would give his bride, and every other bride out there, this advice:

1. Don’t take it so seriously.

Factor a few laughs in along the way. The details and all the miniscule arrangements can make things leading up to the big day very serious.

2. Negotiate every cost.

Wedding suppliers know that you are willing to pay the very best price to get just what you heart desires. In most other cases you would not be willing to spend so much money. Shop around, ask for discounts, haggle like a good Irish girl should.

3. Make time for yourself.

Every body will try and grab a piece of you leading up to the day. Be firm about your alone time. You need the breather to take the pressure off of yourself. Mr Groom admits that this is a protective request for himself. He usually ends up getting the brunt of the pressure building up inside of you. So do it for you, and for him.
