A Love To Treasure: Blair + Laura's Cheerful Wedding Day At Culloden Estate Hotel

A romantic treasure hunt proposal and a quest for the ideal wedding gown culminated in a romantic fairy-tale wedding day.

Surrounded by the beautifully manicured grounds and grandiose architecture of Culloden Estate Hotel & Spa, Blair and Laura celebrated their special day surrounded by friends and family. With love and laughter filling each moment of the day, the young lovers created the perfect start to their happily ever after.

THE BEGINNING

“We met through Queen’s University. We were both staying at Stranmillis Halls at the time and kept bumping into each other. We were definitely friends first, just friends who liked holding hands.”

THE PROPOSAL

“Blair took me on a treasure hunt of all the significant places in our relationship. We went to where we met, had our first kiss, our favourite date spots, and ended up at Castlerock overlooking the sea. It had ended up a pretty wet evening but it stayed dry long enough for him to pop the question. I don’t wear any jewelry really so Blair had the mammoth task of finding a ring that I would want to wear everyday, and he did pretty well! It was a white gold diamond cluster, like I’d hinted at.”

THE DRESS

“Where and how did you choose it?
It took me a long time to find my dress, and we ended up all the way in Balybofey, Donegal to get it. It was the fifth shop we’d been in and I’d lost count of the number of dresses I had tried. I suppose it was just the first one I’d tried on and been really happy with. My mum and aunt both loved it too, and as they’re very critical, we knew that it was the right one.”

THE THEME

“I kept telling people our theme was marriage as a joke, but I think that’s what we ended up with. It was never really about the theme or decorations or anything, because we always knew it was about our families, and if they were happy, so were we.”

SPECIAL MOMENTS

“My favourite moments were either walking up the aisle, or when all of our duties were done in the evening! It was the first time I got to kick my shoes off, have a drink and just chat to people.” – Bride

“The most special part of the day was definitely when Laura first walked up the aisle.” -Groom
