Colourful Rivalries: Fiona + Jimmy At Springfort Hall

It was Cork versus Clare on the day, as guests of the bride and groom gathered at Springfort Hall for one almighty bash. Jimmy and Fiona played up the friendly sporting rivalry between their home counties by opting for a colourful GAA themed celebration. The couple’s wedding invitations were designed as match tickets and their loved ones partied into the night wearing red & white and saffron & blue plaited headbands.

Beautiful autumn light and a bold colour scheme brought their October wedding to life in a mirage of navy blue hues, sunset oranges and fuschia pinks. The perfect complement to the bride’s natural beauty and her wedding dress which exuded understated elegance.

The Beginning…

“We met in An Bróg pub in Cork City – where all good love stories begin! We met 12 years to the day that we got married. We were introduced by a mutual friend and really hit it off that first night and we haven’t looked back since.”

The Proposal…

Fiona’s love of all things historical inspired a magical proposal on the couple’s ten-year anniversary. Jimmy planned a surprise trip for the pair to Northern Ireland, where they stayed in a medieval miniature castle in Glenarm, Co. Antrim. On the first night, he invited Fiona on to the roof of the tower where he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. Swoon!

On The Venue…

“We had been to a wedding at Springfort Hall previously and were blown away by the food, service and warm welcoming atmosphere. We looked at a few different venues at first, but Springfort Hall really stood out in terms of everything we were looking for. From dealing with the team, we couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Everyone raved about the standard of food and the options available on our menu. We already knew that the food was going to be great from our wedding tasting dinner! But what really impressed us was all those little touches. The staff at Springfort Hall paid so much attention to our guests and went out of their way to make sure that everyone had a great meal and overall experience.”

On The Photographer…

“Our favourite thing about working with our photographer Sean Clarke was how calming and relaxed he was. He has a great eye and was able to capture the most natural of shots with minimal fuss. We knew that we wanted a documentary-style photographer who would get shots of ourselves and the guests as they enjoyed the day. Sean is great at putting you at your ease while at the same time being very professional. We love his use of colour and style. We got so many great shots that the toughest part about working with him is trying to whittle down the pictures to a select few for the album!”

“We had an amazing day. Huge thanks and appreciation to everyone that we worked with. We are so lucky, there isn’t a single thing we would have changed about the whole process!”
