Ciara enters the Dragons Den!

Well, I announced on Facebook this week, the secret is out; I am going to be on this Series of the hit RTE show the Dragons Den!

I can’t talk much about it before the show, so you’re all going to have to tune in on April 1st 2010 at 10:15pm to see how I fair against the fire-breathing dragons!

Here’s is a brief clip where the Entrepreneurs are talking about Dragon Gavin Duffy..

You can see more behind the scenes videos and hear from the entrepreneurs on the accompanying website allaboutbusiness.ie

Take a peek at CityNorth Hotel, Co. Meath

Its been awhile since we published one of our wedding venue video walkthroughs here on WeddingDates.ie and I can’t even take credit for this one as it was professionally filmed by the Hotel itself.  Watch this video of the CityNorth Hotel in Gormanstown, Co. Meath to see how they can make your big day one to remember….

What did you think of our video of the CityNorth Hotel in Gormanstown, Meath a short distance from Dublin? I was really impressed with the funky feel of this hotel, and while it doesn’t have grounds of its own for photos, they have a special arrangement to allow you and your immediate bridal party exclusive access to two privately owned stately homes close to the hotel for wedding photographs (indoors and outdoors).  Another nice touch is the complementary basket of gourmet nibbles and bottle of champagne which they provide for you to enjoy throughout the photography session - my kind of hotel!

Impressed?  You can check availability for the CityNorth Hotel here.

Check out the wedding packages and prices for this 4 star wedding venue in Meath right here!

vBlog Episode 5: Bridal Fashion Show!

I posted a couple of weeks back about the Oxfam Bridal Show being hosted in Fallon & Byrne and as a treat I thought it would be fun to get dressed up and take our very own Bride-To-Be Liz out to check out some of the vintage and second hand dresses available out there.

In this Episode of our Bride-to-be vBlog, Ciara and Liz head out on to attend the Oxfambridal Extravaganza Fashion Show in Fallon & Byrne in Dublin.

We had a great night and were spoilt with free wine and goody-bags!  Watch the vid we made which captured the experience….

Located on the second floor of Oxfam’s George’s Street store; Oxfambridal, Oxfam Ireland’s dedicated bridal boutique stocks hundreds of gowns from a wide range of designers including Vera Wang, David Brides, Rosetta Nicolini, Amanda Wyatt and White1.

Wedding Showcase: Oriel House, Cork

We all know that Cork people are probably some of the most fiercely loyal and county-proud in the country!  And that probably explains why so many Cork people, never leave Cork!!  Cork brides, will inevitably marry in their home county and The Oriel House Hotel in Ballincollig has played host to hundreds of these brides throughout the years.

Next Sunday, 7th March they are having their annual wedding showcase, where you can see the banquet hall done up in its wedding finery.  What I loved about the place was the funky lighting and the way the hotel has blended the old and the new aspects of the building so well.

You can watch our little video walkthrough of the Oriel House to give you a taster of what to expect:

And remember - you can always check availability for your perfect wedding venue in Cork right here on weddingdates.ie!

vBlog Episode 3: Setting the date!

This week, Liz talks about her initial thoughts on wedding dates, the type of venue she wants and the all important budget!

VBlog Episode 2: The Proposal Story

This week Liz shares her utterly romantic proposal story with us!

Don’t invite this girl to your wedding…

Just coz its Friday, another YouTube beauty for you all! Marquee weddings, beware….no pole dancing!!

Save the Date….or else!

You’ve gotta love YouTube, it just throws up all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff everyday!  Today, one of my twitter buddies tweeted about this unusual Save The Date - they filmed a youtube video spoofing action movies!

A hot trend for 2010 is for more and more couples to be using some form of video in their wedding - a music video style montage with photos of the couple growing up, and their relationship is becoming quite popular.  Maybe this Save The Date video concept will take off in Ireland too, who knows?!

VBlog Episode 1: Meet the Bride

This week we meet the Bride-to-Be herself, Liz Killeen and hear about how herself and her fianceé Steve met!

Introducing….our new VBlog series!

DrumRoll Please!!  I am SO EXCITED to kick off our new VBlog Series where we will be charting the planning progress of the WeddingDates.ie Bride, Liz Killeen as she goes through her engagement.
