Girls Just Wanna Have Fun – A Weekend in aid of Action Breast Cancer

Each year the Celtic Ross Hotel host a “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Weekend” in aid of Action Breast Cancer. This year it takes place from the 7th – 9th October. All proceeds from the weekend go to Action Breast Cancer. Last year the hotel raised a staggering €7,400 The weekend is also about cancer awareness and even more importantly women spending time together having fun with their mum, sister, friends, aunts, nieces.

One in 10 Irish women have a chance of developing breast cancer during their lifetime. The weekend not only raises vital funds so the Irish Cancer Society can maintain the level of service that is vitally needed, but it also raises awareness of breast cancer and other cancers in women. All the women who attend the weekend have a brilliant time. They come together with their friends to remember someone they have lost or they come with their sisters and mum to celebrate going through breast cancer and surviving. It is a time to chill and relax with lots of fun, relaxation and pampering, and at the same time fundraise for this charity which is close to many people’s hearts.

The two nights bed and breakfast, gala banquet and mini treatment is €185pps. The following activities are also included: pilates, yoga, nail bar, zumba and ballroom dancing, girly movies, self defence, afternoon tea, individual style and wardrobe advice. The highlight of the Saturday afternoon will be the Pampering and Patient Support Services session with the Irish Cancer Society. There will be mini makeovers from the “Look Good…Feel Better” volunteer team and hear from a Reach to Recovery volunteer about the support available to breast cancer patients around the country. There will also be bra and wig advisors. The gala banquet on the Saturday night will feature magician Liam Sheehan and music from Shine the Band with DJ. There is also a best dressed competition! And as a thank you for supporting the weekend all the ladies will receive a fabulous goodie bag on departure!

Tickets are also available for the Saturday night gala banquet only at €50 per person which includes a pink reception and a five course meal. Donation to Action Breast Cancer is also included. There will be a fantastic raffle on the night too!!
