Although snow on your wedding day could seem to be a nightmare, delaying guests or making you a little more then fashionably late foryour big moment! But for some couples it sets the perfect backdrop for your special day photos! Came across this video today of wedding photographer Dermot Sullivan showing him hard at work on a real wedding shoot which gives a great insight of what you can expect from your own photographer on your big day. What I really like about the video is it feels very relaxed, Dermot is clearly getting all of the key shots he needs but isn’t stressing out the couple or the guests.

Wedding Make Up – Sample Work

Those readers who have been following for awhile might remember that we posted a really interesting competition back in June. MakeUp By Anne needed a volunteer. A real bride, to have her make up done by Anne who would allow herself be used as the “model” for Anne’s new website. And her photographer had to be on board to share the pics. A collaborative effort you might say!! But, everyone was a winner…the bride got free wedding make up, Anne got great sample photos of her work for her website and the photographer got some additional exposure (pardon the pun!).

Anne sent us on some of the shots, so I could share them with you my lovelies here on the blog.

I think you’ll agree, the Bride Edel looks so natural and fresh and Anne did a great job. Just gorgeous!!

This Real Life Wedding comes from wedding photographer Niamh O’Doherty.

Dawn Kidney and John Walsh got married recently in the beautiful Gouganne Barra church and they had their reception in the Maritime hotel in Bantry. Both very much in love, they met 4 years ago and got engaged 2 years ago. I met them at a wedding fair where we chatted and they loved my style of photography, they then booked me to document their wedding day. They were a dream to photograph, I had a fantastic day with them.

Calling All August Weekend Brides!

Have you ever opened up a magazine to see your favorite celebrity’s weddings covered in fine detail in the pages within? Well now is your chance to get your wedding into the Irish Press!

The Irish Examiner is doing a weddings edition of the Weekend Magazine in August, and as part of that they are looking to contact five brides getting married on the August Bank Holiday weekend. They hope to speak to the brides after the Big Day to get an idea of how it all went and to hear any fun stories they might have to share.

Not only that, they would like to showcase some photos of each the brides weddings! This is an amazing opportunity for anyone who would like to share with the world some of the memories of their special day! It is also a wonderful opportunity for your wedding photographer to get some of their work into a magazine.

Till Airbrushing do us part?

I spotted an interesting article in the Irish Times today about a couple whose photographer airbrushed all their pictures so that their wedding photos looked a little “plastic fantastic” as if all of the guests had been botoxed in advance of the big day! As you can see from the photo itself, photoshopping photos can lead to dramatic results and some photographers have been known to take liberties with wedding photographs to make the end affect more pleasing.
