Ballygarry House Hotel and Spa, Kerry

We had our wedding in Ballygarry House Hotel and could not have chosen a better venue. From when we first met Helen (McCarthy) who talked us through all our options with no pressure or obligation whatsoever to choose the hotel. Ballygarry have a selection of packages to suit different tastes and budgets which makes it easier to know what everything is going to cost and also it's very clear what the hotel is resposible for and what you might need to look after yourself. On the day itself everything went off so well. As we had a few meetings and with the hotel we knew exactly what was happening. There is so much to describe that I will list a few of the highlights firstly the feedback we got from the guests and afterwards our own experience of the day. The champagne reception wowed everyone. We went for a trad band over the jazz band and people seemed to really enjoy that. The food - where do I start - people are still raving about it - the quality and choice was amazing. All served hot and promptly. The evening food was also great and then there was a 'surprise' serving of 3am sandwiches to keep the seasoned revellers sustained. Apart from the food and the lovely setting and standard of the hotel, people were made feel welcome and relaxed immediately on arrival which was down to the friendliness and professionalism of all staff members - from the reception staff to housekeeping to the bar staff. Our experience was completely relaxed. Nothing was too much for any staff member. In the lead up to the wedding day itself we always felt that there was one thing we did not need to worry about and that was the hotel. We were confident that they would do a great job and not leave us down. To be honest they exceed all our expectations. Helen and Thys as well as all the staff made us feel special and listened to and acted on all our requests. We also felt that we got good value for money. We would recommend the hotel to any prospective bride and groom.

We were lucky enough to have a small, intimate boutique wedding reception with 50 guests at Ballygarry house over the June Bank Holiday weekend and it was simply amazing!! From the moment we stepped in the front door the warmth, generosity and professionalism of all staff and management was second to none, from our initial meeting with Thys and subsequent meetings with Helen we felt at ease and knew immediately that this was the place to have our special day. As you well know planning a wedding is tough and can be quite stressful but it never felt that way when we had any dealings with Ballygarry as they could not do enough for us, everything we requested they accommodated us without fail ,whether it be menu changes, the room layout or special drink requests for our pre dinner reception the phrases "that's not something we do" is not a reply you will hear at Balllygarry House, with a smile you will only hear "Of course, that is something we can do" and that is all any Bride and Groom wish to hear when planning their wedding. As I mentioned above our wedding was quite intimate but I believe this is where Ballygarry House stands head and shoulders over the competition because they made us feel like we were the only two people in the hotel and we soon realised after speaking to our guests and other hotel guests that's how they make every guest feel, which is an art in itself. The most common advice any bride and groom are given before their wedding is to relax and enjoy the day because it over so quick you won't remember it but due of the organisation and professionalism of all staff and management that is exactly what we were afforded to do...relax and soak up every single moment of the day. So to the staff especially to Thys, Helen, Marie, Elaine, Cathal, Donal and our host Padraig, Thank you for providing us with a wonderful setting, spectacular food, impeccable service and a magical day which will live long in the memory for both of us our families and guests! X

Myself and my husband James had our wedding in Ballygarry House Hotel on Saturday 27th April this year. From the very minute I booked the hotel I could not believe how helpful all the saff were. I dealt with the manager Thys and he took care of my wedding reception for me. I did not have to worry about any thing, if there was something I forgot they thought of it. They were so courtous and Thys was available any time for any queries that I had. If I sent an email, I had a reply back within a couple of hours. On the day itself everyting went very well. The greeting we got was magical. The service for drinks reception was excellent. The bell was rang at exactly the time we had arranged, every thing went according to plan. The meal through out the floor was as good for every one as it was for us at the top table. Even yet when I meet guests of ours that attended the wedding they are still raving how great the food and service was for the meal. The standard of food was the highest quality I have ever experienced at a wedding. Thys was with us all during the meal and was on hand for what ever help we needed for any thing, even the speeches. Thys was there all night up to the end of our special day. They did make my wedding a very special day. Again the following morning the staff were there for us and treated us so well. I can speak highly enough of this hotel It was the best experience ever I have had and definately the best hotel I have been to for a wedding. Just in case my rating does not go through I want to clarify I will be giving a 5 star rating.

We got married in Ballygarry House Hotel and Spa in March 2013. We are both from Cork and visited several potential venues for our wedding reception. Our minds were made up the day we went to Ballygarry; we were shown around the hotel, spa & gardens by Padraig, introduced to some of the team who are just wonderful, and we sat down and went through what we wanted from our day and what the hotel had to offer. We secured our date and the hotel liased with us at intervals appropriate for planning and organising the different elements of the wedding reception. We were given excellent advice about the day in general which influenced much of our decision-making. The wedding day was everything we could have hoped for:-) All of our guests went straight from the church to the hotel for the drinks reception and entertainment in the Pavillion (the fact that it was warm and sunny enough for the guests to mingle outside was a bonus!). Our photographer took loads of shots in the beautifully landscaped gardens and it proved to be a great setting. As for the meal, the food was amazing and generous in portion, and the service was fantastic. We had steak as a choice of main course and it was very popular with our guests - so many of them commented on the food, and continue to do so! From start to finish it was superb. Padriag was of great assistance to the men during the speeches and was discreetly on standby to prompt when needed. The following evening we had a barbeque in the pavillion (the after party) The setup for the barbecue was fantastic and the food was simply delicious. I don't think anyone could resist seconds! Padraig, Helen, Cathal, Thias and the rest of the staff at Ballygarry are an excellent team and the best at what they do!

What can we say about the Ballygarry House Hotel.......Amazing!!!!!!!! When we were talking about getting married we did'nt even question ourselves as to where we would hold our wedding reception! It had to be the Ballygarry! The amazing staff and management, the wonderful venue and their delicious food ticked all the boxes! We were encouraged to make it our day and as unique as we wanted it to be. So when my husband and I arrived up to the red carpet on a New Holland Tractor outside the Hotel I think we took advantage of their encouragement!!!! They welcomed us and our guests individually and made sure we were happy at all times. For peace of mind and an amazing day Id recommend the Ballygarry to anyone!!!! I wish we could have our day all over again!!!!!!!
