Ever since the 1907 marriage of the Jameson and Haig families of whiskey dynasty fame, the Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links has been the seaside venue of choice for many local and overseas wedding celebrations. Perfectly located on the award-winning ‘Velvet Strand’ beach, nestled between the picturesque, upmarket villages of Malahide and Howth on the beautiful North County Dublin coast, the Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links offers one of the most magnificent and unique settings in the Dublin area.
On his last official visit to Ireland in 1907, King Edward VII, who often visited the Jameson Family, unveiled a plaque designed specially to commemorate the marriage between members of two great whiskey distilling families, Jameson & Haig. This wedding plaque is still to be seen today in what was the secret south walled garden, starting the great wedding tradition of the hotel, dating back to over 100 years ago
The stunning, natural location on the ‘Velvet Strand’ provides an idyllic backdrop for your photographs or wedding couples can use the intimate ‘Walled Secret Garden’ located on the grounds of the original 19th century Jameson House, once the residence of the Jameson Family along with their own private golf course, now our renowned championship Portmarnock Golf Links course. We have a tradition of only one Wedding per day.

At Portmarnock, we are able to host a civil ceremony or informal blessing. The Links Suite is the ideal room for intimate civil ceremonies, civil partnerships and blessings. The hotel's outdoor garden space is also an option for carrying out smaller ceremonies. Our experienced wedding co-ordinators will be able to assist with the careful planning of your special day and check dates available. However to book your civil ceremony, couples must apply directly to the registry office in your area.
