Capacity: seated in house 15 -150, buffet in house 200
Half a mile of avenue wanders through parkland, its green grass maintained in perfect order with the assistance of sixteen hundred sheep and their lambs. Fine old trees provide the flock with a measure of shade on hot days and, in all directions, there is a screen formed by the natural woods that cover more than half the demesne. Temple House is a magnificent Georgian mansion set amidst a 1,000 acre private estate in Co Sligo, Ireland.
Perhaps it is because it has been the family home since 1665 that makes the atmosphere here so peaceful and special. Temple House boasts rooms of enormous proportions and grandeur and yet there is a real sense of intimacy here too.
Hold your civil ceremony in the skylight room, garden or maybe celebrate with a blessing by the Knights Templar lakeside castle, or just make merry. We can welcome small intimate gatherings or larger parties. The gardens are spectacular, the whole setting breath-taking.
Good food is important too We take enormous pride in our reputation. We look for fresh local ingredients and go from there. The sheer size of the house is particularly well suited to a buffet and dance but also provides a beautiful backdrop for a sit-down. Buffet style guests do have tables at which to perch. Your guests can mingle, inside or outside; informal elegance. We incorporate the speeches with ease too.
We can seat up to 150 in the house for which we cater, or buffet up to 200. There are just 7 guest bedrooms in the house so exclusivity is easy . A cottage sleeping 8 on the estate plus local hotels and B&Bs offer a flexible approach to accommodation. A shuttle bus is easily arranged.
We would always insisit that the wedding party take the house for more than just the day. You will enjoy your stay all the more. There is a special ambiance at Temple House and it loves a celebration.

We felt embalmed by the warm welcome afforded us by Roderick, Valerie and the girls. Guests arrived to be awed by the splendour of the building which became their home for the ... Read More

We wanted it to feel like we were inviting our friends and family into our home to celebrate with us. One other thing to throw into the mix - I no longer lived in Sligo - so ... Read More
