The Lucan Spa Hotel, Dublin

The Lucan Spa Hotel, Thank You for making our wedding day an amazing day and i will never forget it!!! Well, where to start. We had our wedding in the Lucan Spa Hotel on the 18th of August 2012. A day to remember!!! We booked the Lucan Spa Hotel for our wedding in November 2011. From that very first day we came to meet with Claire and Ulick and to picture the view of where we would have our special day, there was no dissapointment whatsoever. All the staff at the lucan spa hotel, at any time, where pleasant,helpful, gave plenty of advice, answered all questions and queries we had and they never let me down at any point. Most of all they were friendly and made us feel so welcome and happy. The few months leading up to wedding i spent some time at the hotel, having lunch, looking around the hotel and of course, looking around the Boyne Suite, for my ideas for the wedding day. I was always allowed to come at any time to the hotel and the staff always made me feel welcome. I was in contact all the time with the wedding coordinators and they always made sure to fill me in on any updates etc. They made lots of suggestions, to help me out and were very helpful in everything! We had plenty of meetings in the weeks to our wedding. We were introduced to our wedding coordinator(Majella) for the day of our wedding and all the staff, which i would have a lot of praise for. They done a fantastic job. Our day finally arrived and i couldnt have asked for anything better, than what myself and my husband received. Our guests were treated with the most professional treatment anyone could ask for. We still to this day, are told how well they were treated. All of us for that matter!! The food, the drink, the venue, the hotel, the rooms, everything. I cannot fault on one thing. More than enough food on offer. Our guests were well fed and didnt have to ask for anything extra or more. The package we received for our guests to stay over night was perfect and most guests did book a room to stay. Actually, i think the hotel booked out....i was more than happy for that, as i knew my guests were comfortable and happy. Throughout the whole day, i dont know how the staff done it, but before my eyes, everything was calm and happy and it was like i was floating through this well planned and coordinated day. The room was transformed for our evening guests to arrive. We had more than enough room for everyone. In total at the wedding, we had 170guests and we had plenty of room. Our evening guests wished they had of being to the full wedding, as they were told so much about how the day went perfect for everyone. Lucky enough (surprisingly) the sun came out for us that day. The lucan spa hotel has perfect picture spots for the wedding photos. Our photographers had lots to play with at the lucan spa hotel and the pictures are perfect and perfect memories of how beautiful our day was... We actually stayed for a weekend and many of our friends and family also stayed with us to celebrate our wedding day. Majella, has the patience of a saint!!! Thank you so much for the whole weekend. Everything you done for us, was brilliant and we cannot thank you enough :) So to finish up, a huge, huge thank you to everyone at the Lucan Spa Hotel. Hi all! So my husband and I got married in "The Spa Hotel" Lucan, in April of 2011. From the moment we viewed the hotel it had our hearts! Nowhere else could match up to its beautiful vintage like exterior and ultra-modern interior (recently refurbished). Once the week of the wedding arrived we had a few changed, unique table setting and ceremony layout for the room! Nothing was any trouble!! In fact suggested a few things to make things easier for us - Very refreshing! The night before the wedding we had the rehearsal, all went so well even at that late stage my husband (groomzilla) had a few changes and again no trouble at all!! So the day of the wedding arrives: Weather was an amazing sunny summer like day, (I know the Hotel didn't have any control over that but as a result,) we had a champagne reception on the balcony fabulous scenery and pictures taken in the forest! Everything was under control and so well managed both Rob and I knew we could relax as the wonderful staff were so professional and could handle anything that was to happen! The Room: Exquisite, didn't warrant any further decorations perfect on its own. A simple flower centrepiece on each table elegantly added a little touch of our wedding colours! The Staff: Second to none on ALL levels!! Surpassed all expectations with a smile always to be seen! The Food: Glorious and again second to none!! We have gone back for dinner since the wedding at least 10 times!! (Any occasion or "just because" . . . we don't need a reason!) To sum it up, I would highly recommend it to any couple on their big day . . . Even just view the hotel and it will take your breath away and hearts will be set on it!! Paula & Robert English

The Pros: Plenty of food, some guests commented on how they got so much they couldn't even finish it. Will negotiate on certain areas. The package is quite competitive. The ballroom is a very nice venue and well laid out. The Cons: My cake acquired a large dent in the top of it during the 24 hours it was in the hotel and they have been extremely slow to address my complaint to them. I still haven't been told how it got there and I feel very let down. The dessert we had agreed on in advance was different to what appeared on the day (assiette of seasonal desserts included banoffi, which my bridesmaid couldn't eat as she is allergic). One of the main courses was not as described on the menu. Can be very slow to reply to emails/phone calls (weeks in some cases). The rooms themselves are in need of refurbishment, the bridal suite was nothing to write home about.

Fantastic wedding venue I could not of picked a better place for our special day. From the planning to the actual day all the staff were so helpful and always in contact to make sure it was perfect and exactly how we wanted it. I have to say the ballroom is magnificant especially the chandeliers and our guests really enjoyed themselves. I would highly recommend this venue.

This is a hotel that i would highly recommend to anyone for getting married. The staff could not do enough for us they accomadated for our every need. The room was mind blowing it was fabulous. When dinner was being served they constantly asked my guests if they had enough food- not one person had to ask twice for more food. The food was delicious . I had guests coming up to me saying how lovely the food was, which was great becasue once the guest are fed then there happy. The room and reception area was spotless. The bridal suite was lovely and my two boys had great fun in the jaccusi the morning after the wedding. We stayed in the hotel the next day for a few drinks and they hotel were so good they brought out complimentry sandwiches for all of us . There just isnt enough words to tell you or recommend to people about this hotel - they are superb Sharon
