Welcome to The Red Door
Nestled among mature trees and landscaped gardens, The Red Door stands proudly on the banks of Lough Swilly in the historic village of Fahan, just a few miles south of Buncrana in Inishowen, Co. Donegal.

About the House
The first part of the country house was built in 1789 and this area is now known as ‘Kate’s Room’ . The original sliding sash windows still flood the room with light and open up views over the courtyard while guests relax by the crackling open fire.
Formerly an outbuilding for storing turf and logs in the 1800’s , the bar area is now at the heart of The Red Door experience. The original flag stones pave the floor and give a warm authentic feel as you enter the building.
Today The Red Door is an exclusive wedding venue, defined by its attention to detail, personal service and ability to deliver incredible bespoke weddings.
The traditional open fires in the bar and Kate’s Room enhance the homely atmosphere and these areas provide a perfect place for guests to meet and have the craic before and after their meals.
Wedding celebrations are held in the beautifully appointed ‘Willow Room’ , ‘Violet Room’ and ‘Scarlet Room’ where guests can enjoy the serene views of our landscaped gardens and Lough Swilly.
Flexible seating arrangements means that we can accommodate wedding parties of up to 110 guests with all three rooms interconnected. However, each room can be used individually for more intimate receptions.
