Wifey For Lifey: Michelle + Laura At Ballyseede Castle

Pick a seat not a side, either way it’s for a bride…

These two are just the sweetest couple – they even have a Pug called Jessie that completes their home in Laois! The sense of family shines through each photograph of Michelle and Laura’s special day, we were particularly moved by the precious moments of each bride with her father before walking to the altar.

It was mission accomplished on the day as the traditional elegance of their castle venue was balanced beautifully with quirky wedding details. From kaleidoscope rainbow colours, to lavender elephants doodled on Michelle’s heels, it was the epitome of blissful happiness. The pair shared all the details with us at WeddingDates HQ:

The Shoes

“Michelle had her shoes hand-painted by Sonia from Le Soulier. She bought her shoes and sent them to Sonia who designed them with Michelle’s spec in mind. We would highly recommend her to any bride-to-be as it was such a unique experience! Sonia was amazing to deal with, and we both love the shoes so much. They are something she will keep forever.”

The Venue

“We actually came across Ballyseede Castle by accident after viewing a nearby venue in Kerry. We popped in unexpectedly and Marnie one of the owners was so welcoming and invited us in for a cup of tea. The castle felt magical and instantly we knew this was our perfect venue. It’s also home to many dogs, so we both fell more in love with the place!”

“The whole experience was out of this world – the attention to detail, the great hospitality, the fabulous food, the amazing staff, and even the castle dogs. We honestly couldn’t fault one thing.”

The Photographer

“We met our photographer, Paul Duane, in January for our engagement shoot. We had a coffee in Ballyseede Castle. It really gave us a chance to get to know each other and discuss what we wanted for our wedding photos. On the day itself, Paul was like the best man we didn’t have! Himself and his wife Fiona were there every step of the way, not missing a single photo opportunity – even snapping a sneaky pap of Michelle taking a shot at the bar. We couldn’t be happier with the results.”

Special Moments

“I really think one of the most special moments for us both was the first look. We didn’t know weather to have one or not, but at the last minute we decided to meet on the stairs just before the ceremony! Of course seeing all of our friends and family come together for our celebration was amazing, it made it even more special that some travelled so far to be with us.”
