Healthy Eating For Brides During the Festive Season

I hate the word diet. I much prefer the term, healthy eating (it even sounds more appealing doesn’t it?). As a bride to be you should be taking care of your body by watching what you eat and stocking up on good foods that will not only make you feel better, but will have you looking as fabulous as ever!

This can be difficult during the Christmas season for us all, let alone brides to be who have their wedding day soon approaching! Christmas comes once a year and I am not going to suggest you dodge the festivities in order to stay on track of your healthy eating regime, everyone should enjoy Christmas! It’s just about making some better choices.

Some tips in healthy eating for brides during the festive season:

  • Think of the Christmas season as two days, Christmas Day and St.Stephen’s Day. It’s easy to get carried away and indulge throughout the holidays but enjoy whatever treats you wish just during these days and you should be satisfied!
  • If you are going to an event which ‘nibbles’ will be at every corner, make sure you eat a healthy meal before you leave home. This will stop you from feeling peckish!
  • Choose low calorie drinks such as spirits with a tonic or diet fizzy drink. Mulled wine may be delicious and go down a treat, but beverages such as wine and cocktails contain a lot more calories and sugar.
  • Get yourself outdoors! It may be cold outside, but warm up and go for a stroll in the winters air. Why not even go for  a walk after your Christmas dinner, if you can manage to move from the sofa!..

By following these simple steps you can still enjoy the fun and festivities of Christmas without feeling guilty for the damage you may have done. Christmas does only happen once a year so enjoy the time spent with your nearest and dearest, you can hit the treadmill running come December 1st! Heehee…
