Sunset and Shimmer: Louise + Aodhan at The Hillgrove

After a near disaster, Louise and Aodhan’s festive nuptials went without a hitch. The groom forgot the most important element of the day – the rings! Thankfully, a kind couple in the congregation donated theirs for use during the ceremony, and the newlywed’s ‘real’ rings were blessed afterwards. Phew, that was a close call!

With festive cheer, a singing waiter, and smiles all around, this Christmas wedding was simply stunning. Happy first wedding anniversary Louise and Aodhan!

The Beginning

“We met through friends around five years ago. We kept showing up at the same events, the Fleadh in Cavan, a festival in Killarney. Anywhere there was partying going on!! Our engagement in contrast was very low-key, just the two of us at home.”

The Venue

“We loved the Hillgrove Hotel as it was close to the chapel where we held our ceremony. We were very impressed with the staff when we went for our initial wedding viewing – it just ticked all our boxes! Everything was amazing from start to finish. The food, the service, the atmosphere! We also enjoyed the menu tasting event before the wedding… that turned into a party in itself! The staff thought of things we didn’t think of. It just ran so smoothly and it had a lovely laid back atmosphere.”

The Photographer

“Our photographer John from Aurora Photographic Agency was just so nice and easy to work with. You would hardly know he was there as he was busy capturing every detail of our day. The finished results were great, each moment summed up our day perfectly.”

The Dress

“I went for a beautiful dress with eye-catching sparkly details, perfectly fitting for the time of year we got married. I got the dress in Eden Bridal in Belfast, they were so nice to work with and we ended up getting the bridesmaid dresses there too.”
