5 Reasons We Are Seriously Obsessed With the g Hotel

Visiting the g Hotel & Spa had been at the top of my agenda for 2016 – and if most of you ladies are following us on social media, you’ll already have seen a sneak peek into my break last Monday. I booked the ESPA Pamper Perfection package for myself and my fiancé which included an overnight stay, delicious breakfast and spa treatment.

Boy, were we blown away!! Luxurious and super chic, the g is a little piece of five-star heaven in the city of Galway. Whether you’re a couple looking for a relaxing retreat or if you’re fantasizing about a royal girly getaway with your gang ahead of your impending nuptials, the atmosphere at the g will fit the bill perfectly.

Here’s what seriously impressed me during our stay… and why I think this wedding venue is the number one choice for on-trend gals seeking a sophisticated and wow factor setting for their big day.

The Pink Lounge At the g Hotel

Its Super Fashionable Signature Lounges

Designed by none other than Philip Treacy, milliner to royalty and Hollywood stars, the g Hotel’s series of signature lounges are totally in your face and utterly fabulous! On arrival the Grand Salon is super sophisticated with muted, elegant tones and 300 twinkling mirrored balls cascading whimsically from above.

WHAM!! Flowing through, the Pink Lounge is screaming for your attention. I’m a self-confessed girly girl, so this area made me go weak at the knees. Bright pops of pink everywhere and a hypnotizing carpet to bring the stylish interiors together. If you’re any bit artsy or a high-fashion enthusiast, each lounge boasts an impressive collection of artwork including portraits of Marilyn Monroe and Linda Evangelista.

I couldn’t think of a better spot for a slightly more grown-up hen party – sipping on cocktails and indulging in a fancy afternoon tea. Living the dream.

The Spa, Ohhh The Spa….

I could praise this for days… A little gem tucked away on the first floor of the hotel, you’d be forgiven for missing the g’s luxury ESPA. But, the Narnia effect only adds to its appeal.

We were pleasantly surprised to find a seriously wow factor vitality pool with water therapy jets and series of saunas, rain showers. The cascading water and gentle under-lighting were both soothing and rejuvenating while the heated loungers sit beneath spectacular high ceilings featuring delicate swan-like paper mache artwork.

We were then brought to the treatment rooms where we enjoyed a 50 minute facial which was personalized to our skin type, before kicking back in the rooftop relaxation suite overlooking the Zen garden.

Wow-Factor Service With A Sprinkle Of Special Touches

The staff at the g exceeded its five-star reputation, down to the very last detail. From personalized g cupcakes presented in our room on arrival to an impressive turn-down service including a fruit platter and chocolates – our slippers were even placed by the bed with relaxing music to set the mood. It’s these little gestures which left us wanting to encourage all our friends to visit!

If you love hotel breakfasts… this was without a doubt up there with the best. A wonderful buffet spread AND cooked to order mains (the freshly-baked, melt-in-the-mouth Pain au Chocolat had me at hello). Take me back!

It Just Jumped To The Top Of Our Wedding Bucket List

Crowned the 2015 winner of Best City Vibes at the IMAGE BRIDES Venue Awards, it’s easy to see why the g Hotel & Spa is highly sought after by couples seeking a chic city venue. Oozing glitz, vintage glamour and dramatic old world elegance, it’s seriously swoon-worthy and romantic.
