Top Tips For Planning a New Years Eve Wedding

This time next week Christmas day will have come and gone. We will all be making plans and celebrations for the new year ahead! New Years Eve is such an exciting time of year, there is that something special in the air… If you ask me, a New Years Eve wedding is simply magical! Many proposals happen over the festive season also, if your other half proposes during this time of year maybe you will decide to celebrate your wedding on New Years Eve next year!

Some tips for planning a New Years Eve Wedding:

Send out your invites as soon in advance as possible – Christmas and New Years Eve are the busiest times of the year. Give your guests enough time to make arrangements as many people go away to spend time with family or have family visiting during this time. You don’t want to be disappointed if your guests have already made plans and can’t make it.

Involve the countdown – Make the NYE countdown a vital part of your wedding. After all it is what the day is all about! Perhaps wait to have your cake cutting ceremony at 12pm, this will add to the excitement for you and your guests!

Consider a later ceremony – Weddings can be a long day. I would suggest you consider having your wedding ceremony a little later in the afternoon. This will ensure your guests are still alive and ready to dance the night away once the clock strikes 12!

Add a touch of glam – New Years Eve is associated with all things sparkly and bright. Inject this into your wedding! Think silver or gold glitter wedding decor, and if you are adventurous you might even consider a sequin wedding dress. If not you could always change into a sparkly cocktail number later on in the evening!

It wouldn’t be New Years Eve without fireworks – Discuss with your wedding venue the possibility of having a firework display at the time of the countdown. This would be amazing if you are having a marquee wedding! Keep this little detail to yourself and see the look of surprise on your guests faces as they see the masterpiece unfold in the sky!
