Wedding Dresses: The Seasons Newest Trends

We are struggling to adapt with the Autumnal weather we have become subjected to in the last few weeks, you’d think we would be used to it by now! I have been rooting out my winter clothes and purchasing new gloves for fear of not being prepared for the weather conditions. Yet winter is well gone from the minds of wedding dress designers, they are now in preparations for spring/summer 2013!

Last month prestigious wedding dress designers such as Vera Wang and Oscar de la Renta showcased their Spring Summer 2013 collections as Fashion Weeks throughout the globe. While we may not all be splashing out thousands on a dress, these designers lead the trends. Here’s what to expect from the seasons newest styles:

Colour

Many designers splashed out on the catwalks in colour. Deep reds, blues, even black and one of my favouites, blushing pink. Wedding dresses need not be white anymore, they just should still look like a wedding dress.

Peplum

Peplum is everywhere! Peplum can come in all shapes, fabrics and cuts. It creates a very ladylike silouhette and is ideal for the bride that wants to create the illusion of curvy hips and a narrow waist.

Lace

Lace wedding dresses were all over the runway at New York Fashion Week. Whether you want an understated simple lace dress or something more striking, there is certainly something for every bride out there.

Statement Back

Think key hole backs, delicate embroideries, sheer fabric. It’s all about the detail in the back of your wedding dress. I would suggest teaming this dress with an upstyle, which will showcase the beautiful detail.

Little White Dress

Up the hem and dare to bare in a LWD. A very pretty choice which allows you to show off a stunning pair of shoes. Add a pop of colour perhaps! Also a great choice for brides on a budget as you may find the ideal dress on the highstreet!
