Wedding Dresses: Why A Short Dress Can Really Work

Short wedding dresses are featuring in all the top wedding dress designer’s collections recently. About time too! The long white wedding dress may be a tradition here in Ireland and abroad, but why limit yourself. A short wedding dress can and will work! Some brides may feel swamped in a full length dress, whether it be because of their height or shape. Short dresses can be found in different styles to flatter all bodies types. Tea length wedding dresses have now become a popular choice, especially for those bride’s who love 50s style!

There are many benefit to wearing a short wedding dress:

  • You get to really show off those heels you paid a small fortune for (perhaps just still hide to receipt from your other half!).
  • You don’t have to worry about the hem of your dress getting frayed/wet, which can be likely in our Irish weather.
  • You will be able to move around more easily, meaning you can take centre stage on the dance floor!
  • You might even get a chance to re-wear your dress at some stage in the future!

If you decide you want to wear a short wedding dress you may even have  a better selection to choose from. You need not be limited to bridal boutiques, you may even find an amazing dress on the right street! Don’t forget to regularly check your favourite vintage stores if you are hoping to go for that 50s look. You could even speak with the sales assistant and ask her to keep an eye out for something in particular that would suit you.  If I had one tip for bride’s who choose to wear a short dress, wear coloured wedding shoes! You may as well show off those heels and add a pop of colour, just because you can. A bright shoe teamed with a short wedding dress with look amazing in your wedding photography! I would choose red. happy wedding dress shopping ladies!
