Wedding Trends 2013 - Part 1

I love this time of year because we get to speculate and wonder over the up and coming wedding trends for the year ahead. 2013 is going to be a spectacular year with glamour, elegance and colour!

1920’s

One of my favourite wedding trends that is being talked about everywhere is the Roaring 1920’s. In the 1920’s women really developed their own style in clothing and left behind some of the restricting garments. The 1920’s brought us extravagant headpieces and hats, flapper dresses and women even dared to cut their hair into bobs! For weddings it is going to mean more elaborate headpieces and jewellery in the hair. Feathers, pearls and sequins will be plentiful! Bridesmaids (and the bride) will wear flapper dresses and use parasols. Women in the 1920’s loved their gloves, magnificent hats and were rarely seen without pearls. For décor for your 1920’s style wedding you can use old suitcases, bird cages, feathers, pearls (again!), old bottles, old books, old mirrors and old picture frames.

Mint Green

The colour of the year will be green! Both mint green and emerald green are stylish both for day to day fashion and for our weddings. Mint is a beautiful soft colour that can be used in splashes or more . Emerald is darker but still extremely vibrant. It is not the most obvious of colours but is said to be a colour of growth and vibrance – perfect for your wedding!

Stay tuned for more wedding trends next week!
