Langtons Hotel Kilkenny is a family owned and run hotel, renowned for being the jewel in Kilkenny’s medieval crown. The hotel offers genuine hospitality, wonderful food, impeccable service set amidst comfortable and luxurious Four Star surroundings. Situated on the vibrant John Street in Kilkenny City Centre, we are only a moment’s walk to Kilkenny Castle, the River Nore and all the many attractions and amenities the city has to offer.

Langtons Hotel was established as a bar in 1938 by Ned and Bridie Langton, offering food, beverages and bedrooms to weary commercial travellers. Redesign and expansion continued over the next 70 years though we continue trading on the original tradition of incredible service, character and charm it is now complemented by 21st century technology and values.

With four venues to choose from within Langtons you really are spoilt for choice. Langtons Ballroom, is a spectacular room, boasting 20ft ceilings, ornate cornicing and hand painted silk wallpaper. This room is the delight of any Bride and Groom. The ballroom is a self-contained venue, complete with it’s own private bar, access to a unique garden bar and private conservatory. The Langton Ballroom is suitable for any wedding party size from 40 guests up to a comfortable maximum of 340.

Set Theatre, created by London based designer, David Collins, is an incredible venue, one that must be seen to be appreciated. ‘Set’ is suitable for a private civil ceremony, a full wedding reception or evening reception, the perfect space for 20 guests right up to a maximum of 108 of your most favourite people. Adding to the delight of ‘Set’, is the private courtyard where your guests can relax and revel in this chic private space.

Harry’s Bar is suitable for a more intimate civil ceremony or wedding reception of between 6 and 40 guests. Recently refurbished, the ambience is enhanced by subtle lighting and candlelight, adding to the magic of any special day.

The Garden Room restaurant has been recently refurbished by Gild & Cage and is an exquisite room for small, medium or large weddings. A naturally bright room, the Garden Room restaurant offers a unique experience with an ambience of sophistication and old world charm.

Bridie’s Bar and General Store is the latest venture by the Langton family and a perfect addition to any Wedding arrival reception in Set Theatre or for ‘day after get-togethers’. A stunning take on an old world bar and general store. Take a walk into the general store and pick up some old world items before you stroll through the saloon doors into the bar itself. In the bar you will be greeted by a beautiful tiled floor, superb wood panelled walls, pewter and marble counters. The next gem in this wonderful place is the exotic walled garden with ample seating in Victorian styled bus shelters.

We had our ceremony in the Set Theatre and reception in the Ballroom, and it couldn't have flowed better and the pictures are amazing. On the day Sean guided us through and calmed our nerves. The day was amazing, and our family and friends are all raving about the weekend we danced and sang into the wee hours. The team on the day were amazing too, helping me with my dress throughout the day! The hit of the weekend seems to be the Featherblade Beef.
If Langtons is a possibility for your wedding, I wouldn't think twice about visiting the team there, the venue is beautiful, their packages are great, and the team are the cherry on the cake! Thank you again to all at Langtons X

more than 5 stars, I would. They took all the stress out of the process. Nothing was any bother. They were such a good team to have, and I will miss working with them. They sorted the band and DJ, and entertainment for the drinks reception. We took so much on faith because we had never heard of any of them, but we knew they wouldn't let us down, so we didn't even look up the band. And they were amazing (The Vows). We knew Langtons had such a good reputation and knew their stuff so well that they wouldn't put anything that wasn't amazing into our day. I gave a basic brief of the cake, and what turned out was above and beyond. They were so on the ball, but made us so relaxed. We put our full trust in Sean and Louise, and they came through big time. I couldn't say enough good things about them and the whole staff at Langtons. I have had other family members have receptions there, and we loved the look of the ballroom. But it wasn't until we started working with Sean and Louise that we realised how amazing they really are. It was the best day of our lives, and thanks to the team, I didn't worry about a thing once I arrived at the hotel because I knew they had everything in hand. They are so down-to-earth to deal with, but true professionals, and I just hope someone else in our family or friend circle gets married there again soon so we can go back.
