March 2024, no request was ever a problem. Everything was organized to a tee by the team at a Grianán, the added surprise before dinner, even when our speeches made our guests wait, the food was as always spectacular.

From our very first meeting with Aisling and Deirdre we immediately fell in love with An Grianin, and knew that's where we were going to have our wedding.

The girls and all the staff at the hotel couldn't have done enough for us from the very beginning, right through to the next morning at check …

out. It's all in the fine details, from the table plans, centerpieces, lighting backdrops and having so many supplies on hand that left me with minimal things to do in the build up to the wedding.

From Barney and Aisling greeting us at the front door on the day to the buzz and atmosphere in the hotel when we arrived, we couldn't have wished for anything more. Then came the food, and we were blown away even more. Everything was to absolute perfection. I couldn't recommend An Grianin enough. Everything ran so smoothly, and the girls were constantly checking in with us.

Our guests have complimented the staff and the food on numerous occasions, with a glowing review. The hotel staff went above and beyond for our guests, even ensuring guests who needed to check out early had a full irish breakfast before they left, even though breakfast didn't start yet. Again another simple touch that stood out for us.

I cannot recommend An Grianin enough, it speaks volumes that Paudies sister booked their wedding with An Grianin too, for this year to return for another perfect day.

Girls, we can't thank you and all the staff enough for making our dream day a reality. You all are brilliant at your jobs and An Grianin is lucky to have you all.

them. The hotel has amazing wedding packages that include everything you need on the day from decorating the reception room to displaying your table plan. The reception room itself is stunning for any event.

On the day of our wedding, both Deirdre and Aisling were on duty to help in any way. They were both amazing I can’t thank them enough. They had every single detail covered. Everything ran on time and without a glitch.

Our food that was served was amazing we have had so many of our guests boast about how good the food was, I felt that your wedding meal is one of the most important parts of the day for your guests and I never had any doubt that it would be anything less than amazing.

We had many friends and family stay for 2-3 days and all of the hotel staff were so welcoming and friendly. Nothing was a hassle to them. From the accommodation staff to food and beverages staff everyone made us feel at home.

From our first communication to our last they were all fantastic! During the booking process and build up to the wedding, Deirdre was superb! Nothing was ever too much hassle for her and she was able to keep us both right on what we should and shouldn't be doing! From picking our menu choices, to our centre pieces even down to the colour of bows for the chairs her assistance was fantastic and much appreciated! Not only that but having them all included in the package was brilliant as it removed any stress or pressures from any external vendors!

On the Day, Aisling was exceptional! She made sure that everything ran on time and that anything that was due to happen did! Again nothing was any bother and made us both feel so at ease on our special day with any last minute requests being catered for without a blink of an eye (Chips on the Top Table!) Even making sure all guests got off the grounds in the early hours and into their taxis! A real asset to the An Grianan.

Lastly I would like to extend my thanks to the whole team involved, both front and back of house. All guests commented on the quality and quantity of the food and how it was some of the nicest wedding dinners they had had, the 'surprise' provided by the An Grianan, the efficiency of the staff, down to the cleanliness of the venue and the accommodation rooms as well as the friendliness of the housekeeping staff! What a team!

so helpful and made everything flow with ease they are for sure the experts and know how this runs so smoothly and no request was too much hassle.
The day flew by and there was not one thing out of place! The room was amazing the hotel centerpieces and linens, seats and amazing circle warm room allowed our guests to enjoy the day without anyone being blocked, etc and the food was one of the best I've had and every guest was left full-bellied and well looked after, the menu had something for everyone and the bride even got her favourite cheesy chip (which was a bonus for sure)
The rooms were great and after a night of dancing everyone was ready for bed, we're very much looking forward to breakfast the next morning which again did not disappoint.
All in all the An Grianan was an amazing venue that will always hold a special place with my wife and my heart and can not wait to revisit it for years to come. The best day from start to finish - even when I was slightly concerned as our ceremony venue was quite a long distance from the reception, there was no pressure at all to get there exactly on time, I would’ve spent the first half of our day worrying in case something else ran over and I was late for the reception - this couldn’t have been further from the case. The staff were absolutely fantastic!! We were fortunate enough to deal with both Deirdre and Aisling, with Aisling being there on the day. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating, not just for myself and husband, but also for all of our guests! The meal was second to none, I cannot even begin to explain the amount of compliments on the food, it was ‘the best food they’ve ever had’, the portions were so generous as well, everyone was well and truly looked after. With my husband being from England, it was so important to me to properly show off an Irish wedding for his guests - even down to the waitress Irish dancing, nobody expected that, it was such a lovely touch and went down so well amongst the guests.

Overall, I could not pick out any faults with the day. We were so well looked after, literally waited on hand and foot, and made to feel so special on our big day. A huge thank you once again to Deirdre, Aisling, Barney and all the wonderful staff at An Grianan, you all really made our day a day to remember!

We met with the coordinator, Deirdre, who couldn’t have been more accommodating in helping us build a package that suited our needs. We were very pleased that the wedding packages at An Grianan included many extras as standard, such as the chair covers, centrepieces and night time buffet.
We had picked the hotel because of their excellent reputation for catering for big numbers but were blown away by how well they adapted and catered for the smaller numbers. We had just over 100 at our wedding, but yet the way the staff planned the table layout, the room still looked nice and full but intimate at the same time.
An Grianan's attention to detail was second to none. It was clear to all in attendance that everything from the food to the function room was done to the highest standard. The wedding felt so intimate and special and that was down to the hotel’s management of the event. Every guest commented on how courteous and attentive the staff were and how wonderful the day was.
Prior to our big day we were assured that no matter how many guests we had invited, whether it be 80 or 250, our wedding would be the priority on the day and they definitely kept their word on this. All of our guests were so well looked, well fed, and left extremely happy.
We've been to a few other weddings at different hotels since our own big day, and everyone has commented 'No, the beef isn't as nice as An Grianan's'!
We were so happy with how our wedding went and cannot thank Deirdre, Aisling and all the staff at An Grianan enough.

From the initial planning to the day itself, An Grianan Hotel were amazing. They really made us feel like we were in good hands and they accommodated our every request.

The venue is stunning with plenty of locations for pictures, a magnificent Celtic ring fort "Grianan of Aileach" being the highlight. It boasts spectacular views and a rich history. The fort is a quick 5 mins drive from the hotel.

The food at An Grianan Hotel was exceptional, all our guests remarked the same. The venues rooms were another surprise, they are fantastic and in tune with the entire location, felt really comfortable and impressive.

the wedding show in An Grianan and after this we decided to book an appointment to see what dates were free to book our big day. From day dot, Deirdre was so accommodating in helping us get organised for our big day. Any questions we wanted to ask she answered straight away. I loved everything about An Grianan, from the beautiful gardens for wedding photos, the amazing reception hall, the rooms, the staff etc. Oh and we can’t forget Barney who welcomes the bride and groom into the reception. This is something which other hotels don’t seem to have, which again I loved about it, so different. On our big day, everything ran smoothly all thanks to Deirdre and Aislinn. Couldn’t ask for better. Stunning venue, the loveliest staff, the best food and much more.

For anyone getting married I would 100% recommend booking an appointment and checking out the An Grianan. My husband and I had the best day, we wish we could do it all over again.

My day was incredible and that is in large part because of the hotel. The reception was planned and managed so well by Deirdre and her team. They were so attentive to me, my husband, and guests.

care of everything from centre pieces, to bows, and table plans which meant we had zero stress in the weeks before and on the day. The staff on the day couldn't have done enough and the food was unbelievable, the amount of compliments we had from our guests on how brilliant the day went was great to hear - but it was really down to staff and chefs at An Grianan. Aisling was fantastic on the night and kept checking in to see if there was anything else we needed, but also blended into the background so the guests didn't notice she was always on hand.
A number of close friends and family have got married over the past 2 years and I can genuinely say no one had as great experience with their wedding hotel and coordinator as we did, nothing was an issue with them and overall it was great value for money.
I couldn't recommend An Grianan enough for a wedding venue, everything about our experience was 5 star and we'll continue to go for their food.

breath of fresh air while planning our wedding, she was always on the other end of the phone/email with very speedy replies, which for any bride is key. She was also great with tips/advice along the way for all the stuff we were unsure about.

On our wedding day it was the most perfect, smooth running day we could have ever wished for. Once again Deirdre had everything running on time with top service. This was also noticed by a number of guests. Every single member of staff that worked that day were all a credit.

When we started planning our wedding we booked a number of hotels to look at. Once we visited An Grianan and met Deirdre, we knew within seconds that this was the hotel for us. From the moment we met, we were so impressed with her knowledge, professionalism and expertise. She was so warm, so …

welcoming and friendly that she immediately sold the An Grianan to us. She helped to create the perfect wedding day for us and guided us in decision-making when considering what we needed to make our day special.

When our big day arrived, we found the preparation, love and hard work that had gone into setting up the room and arranging the welcome reception area was meticulous. The atmosphere, ambiance and guest-staff interactions were just fabulous.

The wedding room at An Grianan is simply beautiful - the large circular room is perfect for all guests to see the top table and the bar is located perfectly within the room. The room was decorated beautifully for us. Deirdre did our table plan for us, set up our sweet table, added table centre pieces and added our favours for us. We did not have to worry about any of this! This was another extra touch.

The food on our wedding day cannot be faulted - the quality and taste was incredible. All guests commented so highly on the food and how much they enjoyed the food on the day. Thank you!

The service throughout the day was impeccable. The entrance of the silver service for the top table was fantastic and everyone loved the little touch of the music - it added to the enjoyment and fun on the day! I know many of our guests commented on the service at their tables - from frequent top ups of food and drinks to the polite, professional and friendly staff members that were interacting with them.

The day ran without fault and everything was seamless thanks to Deirdre and Aisling. The organisation that went into our wedding day was just so impressive and we honestly did not have to worry about a thing. Everything we asked for they had sorted!

FOOD was first class - the beef is the winner however I had the seabass and really enjoyed how light it was & there was plenty of seconds offered too!

The newly decorated room is lovely and bright- and hotel in general is very clean which in my opinion is very important for guests staying over.

The only negative thing I would say is that the hotel had added artificial flowers to my cake table and on top of my cake which I did not want alongside my own flowers that I had paid big money for so I felt it was a bit too much but that is only a minor detail!

We thoroughly enjoyed our whole experience, from when we first went to view the hotel - which we arranged last minute and Deirdre had kindly stayed on to meet us - to when we attended the Wedding Fayre and we booked our date - to when we stayed in the hotel for a night prior to our wedding and for all the help with organising our special day. It was a seamless process & a perfect day which ran in time due to Deirdre's meticulous organisational skills and great staff. The grounds of hotel are also really well kept which I feel makes such a difference on first impressions of hotels.

The hotel itself is stunning. It rained a lot on our wedding day, so we were unable to have outside pictures taken instead we had our photos indoors, inside the hotel. Our photos are amazing!!! The hotel was the most beautiful backdrop for photos - We couldn’t have been happier!
On arrival, after our ceremony we were greeted with champagne and a red carpet and then our entrance was announced to all the guests. The hotel’s wedding props (Postbox, Table plan etc) in the reception were gorgeous, neutral colours so would suit any wedding. There were so many special touches the hotel laid out for us throughout the day.

We had 32 guests at our wedding in the “Magh Tuireadh” Suite. It was the perfect size for our party. We didn’t hire in any decorations, the room was absolutely beautiful as it was. The layout of the room was perfect and Deirdre and her team had it dressed beautifully for the evening.

The layout of the room was perfect for our day - aprx 3/4 of the room was carpeted which is where we had our dinner tables and the top of the room has wooden floor which is where we had our entertainment (Dale Thomas The Hypnotist) and it was then used as a dance floor into the night. The dinner was delicious, all of our guests agreed that they thoroughly enjoyed their dinner and that there was loads to eat!

We viewed a few venues before deciding upon the An Grianan, but the An Grianan blew the rest out of the water. The packages they offer are superior to any other we viewed. I can’t stress how fantastic our day was, we had so much fun and so many compliments!

We had a relaxing, very easy initial appointment with Deidre that then lead on to us booking our dream day. Deirdre discussed the various packages and prices ranges as well as resources to avail of including centre pieces, back drops, table plans and much more. Deirdre then directed us on a tour of the premises. When entering the main ballroom, my mouth dropped when I saw the stone wall, centre chandelier and surrounding decor. We also walked around the breathtaking An Grainan gardens. There is also the Grianán of Aileach within 5 minute from the venue over looking lough Swilly. Deirdre was in contact throughout our planning and was always on the end of the phone for assistance. hotel were very helpful, and considering it was such a difficult and unpredictable tIme for everyone involved, we were impressed with how they managed the situation as a whole. Anything we asked for, we received. Our guests were very complimentary on the food that day. It was all delicious, and there were even seconds offered around for those that wanted more. On entering An Grianan Hotel, there is a very friendly, and it had a cosy feel to the place, which is what we always loved about it. Ourselves and our guests were all made to feel very welcome. The bedrooms were immaculate and none of them were too far away from the main reception and function room, which was very handy for guests. The main function room is unique, as it is arranged in a circle, with the dance floor in the middle. We were delighted that even though we had to reduce our numbers to 50, the tables were still arranged in such a way that the room still looked nicely filled, and nobody was too far away from the top table, toilets or bar. The nearby An Grianan fort was where we went for photographs, and we were blown away by the views that day. To have these beautiful surroundings so close to the hotel made it even more appealing as a wedding venue for us. We couldn’t recommend An Grianan Hotel enough to prospective brides and grooms. We were very happy with how our day worked out.

The food was outstanding, and my family still speak so highly of the food and it has appeared to have been the talking point ever since, including the exceptional service. I’d say I’m lost for words on describing our wedding day but that would do a disservice to the lovely An Grianan Hotel.

Set in a stunning backdrop of Lough Swilly and Grianan of Aileach the fairytale location is an ideal wedding venue.

with all the small (thanks for the button holes help!) and large asks we had while guiding us both through the process and navigating any issues with a speedy grace of a professional that knows her trade inside and out.

Magh Tuireadh Suite suited our needs with a small wedding of 30 and the team at An Grianan Hotel transformed the room into a Ceremony stage then into our dinner and late night venue in a very quick time.

The staff ensured that nobody had an empty drink in front of them attending to everyone’s needs with promptness and all were super courteous and polite. While the glasses never got to empty, the plates were certainly cleaned though with every course on the menu being thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Deirdre and Aisling (might be misspelling) were amazing throughout and really made the day a success and were so accommodating for all our needs.

The honeymoon suite is truly a magnificent addition to this experience and the jacuzzi was a nice in room touch.

I'm genuinely finding it very difficult to express in words our sincere thanks to Deirdre and all the staff at An Grianan Hotel. I contacted Deirdre in October 2020 to ask if we could hold a wedding just 8 weeks later for 25 guests (due to restrictions). Not only did she accommodate us, but she …

treated us like she would any wedding party of 300 guests. She was extremely professional at every stage of the process, including on our big day, 30th December 2020. Whilst remaining professional, Deirdre ensured we had ticked every box for our wedding day and made us feel as though we were part of the furniture. We wouldn't have enjoyed the day half as much if it was anyone else.

If you want to book a wedding, or you're even considering it, take our advice and book An Grianan, especially if it's during the pandemic. Not only did An Grianan make us feel indredibly welcome, they also upheld the cleanest standards and abided by all social distancing guidelines.

My family are still commenting on how amazing the food was. We had a 6 course meal, all beautifully presented, and they even gave us an evening buffet. Some hotels prefer quality over quantity, some prefer quantity over quality - I can safely say An Grianan give you both!

The rooms were also very clean and beautifully presented.

Thank you so much, from the bottom of our hearts, to everyone at An Grianan Hotel for your kindness, professionalism and most importantly, for making us feel part of the family during our big day! We can't wait to visit again for our 1st anniversary.

We got married in an Grianan on Easter Saturday and We could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding.

My husbands family all traveled from Meath the day before an stayed in the hotel all weekend and were very impressed by their surroundings .

As it was Easter weekend they were very busy, however you would never have thought they were as nothing was too much trouble.

In particular, one of the staff members Chris (also night porter) could not have done enough for myself and our guests and he was there for the full 3 days that we stayed, ensuring everyone was fed and even helped to organise taxis for our guests.

On the day of the wedding the food was the best we could of asked for, steak was on the menu and as you can imagine, steak can be difficult to cook to everyone's liking, but again like everything else this was done perfectly.

Over all, we could not of asked for anymore from An Grianan.

What an amazing experience! My wife and I had the pleasure of celebrating our wedding by having our reception at An Grianan Hotel on 8th April 2017.

We paid a visit to the hotel back in May 2016. From the moment we met with Deirdre (wedding coordinator) we both felt so comfortable and assured …

that we had found the best place. Nothing was too much trouble, everything was clearly explained of what was on offer from the hotel, but even after that the hotel were incredibly flexible from the very beginning up until the day.

We had the opportunity to taste all the food options well in advance and the service was exceptional, no one was left hungry.

As for the day itself, the hotel made sure it was fully prepared and aware of our plans every step of the way, so when it came to our big day we had nothing to worry about, the whole day from start to finish ran so smoothly and we were made to feel so welcome and like VIPs.

It wasn't just us as Bride and Groom who enjoyed our time at the hotel, but so many guests commented on how the hotel added to their stay in Ireland.

The best way to explain our wedding reception at An Grianan was that from the moment our day began we basically owned the hotel and that it was our home. We were so comfortable and happy with the staff, they knew us and wanted to make our day the best it could be.
