You all played a major part in making our special day the success it was, so thank you! The only thing I would say is they don’t allow this type of wedding on a Friday or Saturday and the overall cost is not too different from a traditional wedding so I think they need to rethink this! staff in every area, the bar, reception, and in the hall itself were very attentive. The negatives were very few. We got married in August on a hot day and we found the main function room (The Great Hall) to be extremely hot. The air conditioning wasn't adequate. The only other negative was the food tasting. This takes place on a weekday which was very disappointing. Other hotels offer a tasting on the weekend where you can relax and enjoy some wine if wanted. As my husband had work that day, and work the next day, we didn't feel like it was as enjoyable as it could have been. Other hotels offer a night's stay on the day of your tasting, and this would have been greatly appreciated. This was the most disappointing thing as we felt it could have been more special for us, and we felt that it wouldn't have caused much hassle or stress to the hotel to organise. In all, we were really glad we chose Clontarf Castle as our wedding venue, and I would recommend it to other newly engaged couples!

We had a fantastic wedding day at Clontarf Castle, our food and service were excellent, the room was perfect although a little hot. Rachel was with us every step of the way advising and supporting us, and although she couldn't be there on our special day she left us in very capable hands.

Rachael Clarke was particularly good to deal with. She made our preparation as easy as possible and we felt we were in safe hands. The other staff were also excellent and lots of guests commented on the quality of food and service.

A great event is 90% planning, 10% execution and with Clontarf Castle it's flawless. Our wedding was in the Great Hall having 174 guests, with the bar in the room. The hall size was just perfect, the food was fabulous and served hot to every guest. The service team were excellent and were very engaging with the guests and the venue itself is so full of character it's easy to forgot you're only a stone throw away from the city centre. we were really confident that the team at Clontarf would have it all in hand. Rachael had so much patience with us and worked through every minute detail for us. On the day the team were superb. The venue was just stunning and so classy. The food was fantastic in the Farhenheit Restaurant and our party in the Indigo Lounge worked out so well. The evening food was also delicious and so plentiful. Everyone commented on what a fantastic venue it was and so many people had never been to the castle before and couldn't believe how gorgeous the interior was. As we had a small wedding we have the financial flexibility to choose the Majestic dining package. This worked out really well for us as we didn't have to worry about adding on extra costs. The honeymoon suite was so fab we were sad to leave it the next day. I can't wait to go back and enjoy a relaxing stay there again. I would highly recommend it. barbecue for 120 adults and 10 children - the crowd was from all over the world - myself a local from Dublin and my husband from Brisbane, Australia so the guests were Irish, Australian, English, Canadian and a few more countries thrown in!

The feedback from all our guests was ' great venue, amazing food, the staff are so nice and brilliant band". We couldn't recommend the Castle as a wedding venue and accommodation more. Nothing was too much trouble for Rachael and the rest of the staff. They are such a genuine group of people and I really felt like they went the extra mile for us in all our requests....which I won't lie we had quite a few....

Rachael was so helpful, patient and on the ball with everything. Seeing everything come together on the day was actually quite emotional and I felt like Rachael had really got me and become part of the family. Soppy I know, but given the intimacy of the celebrations she was really a part of it and truthfully we can't thank Rachael and the staff enough. The staff contributed so much on the day and we felt they cared about us as a couple and our families and guest.

The grounds themselves are gorgeous, rooms very comfortable and food throughout wonderful. There is also so much history and culture there, and it's a super bonus for anyone staying. We actually stayed for a number of days at Clontarf Castle and were quite sad leaving! I can't recommend Clontarf Castle highly enough and look forward to my next visit.

I am originally from the States and we were going to have a number of family and friends travelling to Ireland for the first time for the wedding. We wanted something central that was also beautiful and impressive. Clontarf Castle was the perfect choice. Everyone was impressed by the grounds, the hotel service, and the wedding presentation. A number of my family and friends stayed at the hotel in the lead up to the wedding. Everyone kept telling us how much fun they had. Since many of our guests were also close by in Dublin, we stayed late in the residents bar and the hotel was great about letting us enjoy some late night drinks and chat. The wedding suite was also exceptional. The room has a spectacular view of the city and is simply stunning for getting ready. It makes you feel like it is a truly special day. The staff provided us with sandwiches and prosecco for bridal party preparations and another bottle of prosecco for when we returned after the wedding. The hotel also gave us a beautiful photo of the hotel and us to take with us as a gift. It was above and beyond. For me, however, it was even before the wedding started that I decided we made the perfect choice. think she knew every like & dislike we had, from food to colour schemes to music...& she used it all to put a fantastic day together for us. She wasn't working alone though, as each staff member we met could not have done more to help our big day go off smoothly and without a glitch...(if there were any glitches we knew nothing of any of them!). From the hotel manager David joining us at our menu tasting to see how we were getting on, to the bar manager popping by to assist with wine choices, from Leanne in reservations to helping sort all the rooms, to the chef who cooked our menu tasting sitting down with us after to run through our choices...it was all the little extras that made it so special & really felt like we tailored the day just as we wanted it.
On the wedding day itself the food was just amazing. You can forget 'standard hotel wedding food' , it was contemporary, fresh & imaginative and everyone thought so. We really wanted to actually eat & enjoy our wedding meal and we definitely did! Plates were scraped clean!
I cannot think of nicer place to have had our wedding, and my only regret is that it's over....It's the little touches that make it special and Clontarf castle has so many of those...when we arrived on the wedding day Amanda & the function manager Barak took a photo of us getting out of the wedding car....and 2 hours later at our meal that photo appeared in our menus on the tables ! A gorgeous touch & complete surprise to us.
We cannot thank you all enough for giving us such a special wedding weekend...it is a gem of a venue & I really don't think we would have had as special a day anywhere else.

Our wedding day 5 years ago in the castle was fabulous from start to finish. We loved our drinks reception in the indigo lounge, it was perfect for the size of our wedding group (approx 180), we got a chance to see people and speak with them. We had a chocolate fountain and musicians there too …

which has really added to the atmosphere.
Our dinner, wow is all I can say, 5 years and people still talk about the chicken salad that we had as our starter, it was amazing. No on had a bad word to say about the food, it was all wonderful. We had the singing waiters for entertainment at dinner which went down a treat with everyone and all the bridal party ended up on the stage doing the can-can and singing New York New York.
We had a band and a then a dj, during the evening festivities we had Irish dancers perform, also a friend of mine who is a professional Irish dancer also gave us a jig too. I didn't have any of the evening food as I was off about with people, but I know my guests did and we're impressed.
We went to the residence bar afterwards and we're there till the wee hours of the morning.
My only one teeny issue was that I didn't get to cut the cake, there was a misunderstanding and the woman working that day thought we had done the cutting the cake thing so the cake was cut up by the hotel before we had a chance to, very minor, and didn't put a dampener on my day at all. But was the only incy negative of the whole day, everything else was wonderful.

I left the hotel that morning for the church and the staff were just sooo helpful and kind. The hairdresser, make up artist and photographer were escorted up to the bridal suite and we were all made ver comfortable. I had left some presents for different family members that night for the dinner and they were all allocated to the right people which made the whole day even more special. We arrived back from the church and had drinks in the bar followed by having our pictures taken and then proceeded to the dinner. Any questions or queries I had I would email our wedding co-ordinator & she'd always get back to me soon after with the answer. They are such a busy & very well known hotel but every guest & couple getting married was important to them & you get that feeling.
Our families & friends enjoyed our wedding & still talk about it 6months later. They all couldn't believe how every detail was so personal & fantastic. The food, drinks & the service was out of this world on the day & also at our post wedding bbq we had the next day. We wanted to celebrate in style & Clontarf Castle made that happen. We met with the head chief & the bbq chief & they went through every detail with us. The options & choices available to us nothing was too much trouble. They thought of things I didn't & the day could not have gone any better. Everything went off perfectly & they were amazing I would love to do it all again. The staff were so friendly to all our guests & smiled throughout the day. Plenty of food etc to go around & our guests felt they were at the wedding of the decade, they've never had such a amazing day out before & we agree. The drinks reception was perfect, the Great Hall, were our meal was a banquet fit for a king. Décor was so stunning & stylist it was everything I dreamed of & more. The venue as a whole is beautiful & the bedrooms are fantastic, the breakfast the next day was brilliant plenty to go around. We had an ice cream cart and the hotel were happy for it to go on the decked area, which was great for the kids (Young and old). We had a solo jazz guitarist playing a set inside the Knights bar in one of the bay windows. It was just how we imagined.

staff who could do no more for us.They are a very experienced team who can sort out any situation that may arise which for us we had many from booking the hotel and not the Celebrant and then realising everyone was booked out, but they have so many contacts that wasn't a problem,we even were let down by our dj two weeks before our wedding who we booked a year in advance, Clontarf sorted us out ,even small issues of fussy eaters and finding out two days before some of your guests have intolerances to the food you chose ,the menu was altered for them. These things happen everyone but not every hotel has the contacts or staff who go to that extra length to help you out. As I said before the staff made our day by being so helpful and not because the had to but because they wanted to . All our problems were fixed by just a simple phone call to the hotel. The day itself was a day I will never forget , it was better than I ever could have dreamed of. We arrived to a red carpet and friendly staff wishing us well followed by champagne for the two of us after the ceremony. The ceremony itself was decorated by beautiful flowers and candles we chose the Norman Suite the smallest room but the work and detailed and arrangement put into the room could not be faulted. It simply looked stunning.We then had the opportunity to capture amazing photos of the picturesque views of the Castle inside and outside, there are plenty of photographic opportunities to make your album beautiful and different from everyone else created by the backdrops in this Castle. We then went on to the dinner which I have to say was the best food I've ever had! I have never seen so may empty plates on the tables everyone loved the food. The waiters were so nice and we're really helpful in making the dinner go smoothly.They kindly offered to make up a dinner and mash it up for our 2 yr old which I never thought of doing, they even came back around with second helpings of meat and veg for guests who wanted more, I've never been to a hotel and being offered more beef and as much as we wanted, I had very happy guests! A lovely personal touch that the hotel had organised was a picture of the two of us on the menus ,which they had captured earlier that day. Then onto the evening we went on into the Indigo Lounge it's a really funky modern room to have your evening reception. Everything went perfect and still to this day I not only have people commenting on how they were the best sliders they have ever had at the evening reception you have to have the mini hamburgers it's a must! But also people are still commenting on how amazing the hotel and staff were on the day . I had never been to this hotel before our wedding but I know I will be going back plenty of times in our future. Everytime I hear Clontarf being mentioned I am filled with lovely warm happy memories it truly was the best day of our lives we could not recommend this hotel enough.!!!!!!!

King & Queen of the wonderful Clontarf Castle!

for one night as I hardly spent any time in the room. Arrived to find a lovely framed painting of the hotel with our names and wedding date recorded on it. A lovely surprise and momento of a fantastic day and great choice of wedding venue.

Despite the many last minute decisions, Amanda our wedding coordinator, instilled confidence in me that everything was under control. Of all the things on my 'to do' list for the wedding, the hotel reception was the one thing I never worried about and had to think very little about. From meeting Jason and Amanda I knew it was in the hands of professionals and they did not prove me wrong.

All the staff were warm and welcoming and went out of their way, behind the scenes, to make our day run smoothly and special. The dining service and food was excellent. All my guests commented on how great the meal was. In particular, the sirloin which was lean and cooked perfectly and how generous it was in terms of second helpings and the beautifully presented and tasty raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake! Every menu even had a photo of us printed on it from when we arrived just two hours earlier. Another lovely personal touch and a great shot!

The entire day was just so personalised and we certainly felt like king and queen of the castle! Great memories.

I also wanted a very relaxed menu for the day with food that I liked and other venues were not very helpful or accommodating in this respect but Clontarf Castle said straight away that it was our day and we could have whatever we wanted! We had our drinks reception in one of the galleries and were told that there wouldn't be a lot of traffic from the hotel through there but there were people passing through with luggage etc which was a little distracting but the space was perfect for the small intimate gathering we were having! People say I'm a perfectionist and there were a few little things missing or in the wrong place but once it was mentioned to a staff member it was rectified almost immediately! Several managers came to check on how the day was going and this was appreciated on the day! Everyone that attended our wedding complimented the food! We had bar food in the restaurant and it was amazing!! Just what we asked for and all steaks were cooked just the way they wanted!! Our bridal suite was also amazing!! ready in the bridal suite on the morning of the wedding. My three bridesmaids, my Mum and I were treated like queens! We got breakfast delivered to our room and also the wedding coordinator brought us up some CHAMPAGNE! What an amazing start to the day! We had our ceremony in the local church. When we arrived back to the castle our drinks reception was in full swing with prosecco for everyone or a selection of beers (we had paid a bit extra to have beers for guests that wanted them!) We had an afternoon tea theme for our wedding so we had tea and cupcakes at the drinks reception also. The great hall was decorated with teacups and teapots for our afternoon tea theme. It looked AMAZING! I hired a company called Lullabelle to come and decorate the banquet hall. The flowers came from clontarf florists and looked so delicate in the centerpieces on the tables-exactly what we wanted! Our wedding meal was exceptional! Our guests still rave about the food. Wine was flowing throughout the meal and the speeches! When it came to cutting the cake we were presented with a SWORD to cut it with!! This added to the magical element of the whole day. We truly were treated like royalty for the day- exactly what we wanted on the day of our wedding. We have booked a couple of events there since our wedding. My husband organized a surprise afternoon tea event for my 30th birthday in Clontarf castle. We also hope to have our baby daughters christening there in the new year. The staff and atmosphere of Clontarf castle is exceptional and I would definitely recommend it as a venue for a wedding or any other special event. You are guaranteed to get treated like royalty whatever the occasion!

We really wanted the day to be personal to us and Clontarf really really succeeded in adding in so many little personal touches throughout the lead up to and the day itself that made the day extra special. The staff were professional and so organised, everything was exactly as we had asked and set up the way we wanted.

The food was AMAZING! I have never had wedding food so delicious. We had a few guests with specific dietary requirements and even one fussy eater who was catered for. We are so excited to go back to the restaurant next year for our anniversary meal!

The day itself was just fantastic, we were greeted at the door on arrival with a delicious cocktail and a warm welcome and from there we couldn't believe just how smoothly everything went.

I would definitely recommend this beautiful venue for an amazing day.

there for us every step of the way. They were all organized, and truly a professional group. Anything I needed, I had! In fact, we even lost our wedding certificate and everyone (including the duty manager) went looking for it! (And I mean they even went through the garbage to find it!). I am American and the staff at Clontarf Castle hotel was there for me working through the details every step of the way. They were honestly the most wonderful group of people and made my week long stay and enjoyable experience. I left feeling like I had a true family! Thank you for making my stay and wedding the most memorable!

We had a wonderful day. All our guests commented on how beautiful a venue Clontarf Castle is and how good the food was. In addition the staff were most helpful and accommodating and we were very happy with the service provided. I did not have anything criticisms about the venue meal or service
