and friends are still talking about the food, which was next level and plenty of it. The grounds and Georgian part of the hotel makes for amazing picture opportunities which meant we got to spend so much more time with our guests on the day. We had the best experience and would highly recommend. We planned our wedding from London and Dee and the team were always on hand to answer any question and chat. Dealing with the team at the County Arms meant for a stress free experience.

professionalism from the County Arms went above and beyond our expectations. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. A special shout out to Niamh, Dee, Michelle, Shannon, Claire, David, Liam, Aiden and Chloe, who were all fantastic but nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff.

hotel were just so understanding and they were so helpful organizing everything for us. Since we got married every guest that was at our wedding have not stopped talking about the staff in the County Arms and the service and how gorgeous the food was and how helpful the staff were to each and everyone of our guests. worries! On the day of the wedding everything flowed so smoothly. All our guests raved about all the food which certainly left no-one hungry! From the rolls at the reception, the main meal, the afters food and even the snack box at the residence bar went down a treat! We personally loved the prawns for the starter of our main meal. The hotel has recently refurbished the gardens and it was such an amazing place for ourselves and our guests to hangout in and get some nice photos! The main function room was decorated so beautifully! We were so proud to have our guests here. For our wedding we had a day 2 of a tradition session with some lovely buffet style food in the Garden room. It helped create a more intimate environment. We cannot speak highly enough of the service we received in the County Arms and would definitely recommend to any of our friends and family planning a wedding.

The private gardens are so special for photos, the hotel is so warm and welcoming with stunning surrounds ,and as for the food, every morsel was cooked to perfection.
Dee was a huge addition to our wedding, she handle our day from start to finish with such ease and a constant smile on her face, she and all the staff have left us with such special memories, including all our guests, to the point that some of our guests have already returned to the hotel for relaxing breaks away.
5 star isn't a high enough grade for this hotel. It really is a home from home, a beautiful hotel were memories are made with the help of its warm and friendly staff.

like clockwork. Kitchen staff provided food that was nothing short of perfect, waiting / bar staff were so helpful and friendly, as was every member of staff attached to our day. Every one of our guests were beyond impressed by their experience at the County Arms Hotel with many planning a return already. We just had the most perfect day, knowing our guests enjoyed it as much as we did has made our day even more special. couldn't stop talking about the food. While I will take credit for giving the best possible day that I could, well the food is all down to the amazing Chef and his team. We don't get to see these people on the lead up and the day itself, so I'd like to thank ye so very much for a fantastic meal. We could not find a single fault.
We were very lucky with the weather and our guests could enjoy the beautiful gardens in the County Arms. Our photographer was able to take some amazing pictures on the day.
The staff here made us feel like a King and Queen for the whole weekend. Our guests that stayed couldn't compliment and praise the staff enough. Throughout their stay staff were checking in and making sure they were OK. The hotel was spotless everywhere.
For those considering The County Arms for your day I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed.

only a few weeks before the wedding there was absolutely no issue and they were delighted to help us with anything we needed. Dee and her staff made sure we thought of everything we needed to in the build up to the wedding and it was stress-free so that on the day we could just sit back and enjoy it. The ballroom is absolutely gorgeous, the gardens, the bridal suite and the ceremony are all just beautiful. We couldn't have picked a better place and are so happy with our choice.

Nothing was too much trouble, and any questions we had were answered, from needing the name of a photographer to choosing our wedding menu. The care that was given to my elderly mum by Deirdre on the day of the wedding, was amazing. Our wedding day was fabulous, from start to finish. Deirdre had listened to what we wanted, and delivered it in style. All our guests thoroughly enjoyed the day, talking about the food, the service and the fabulous surroundings. Deirdre is an absolute star.

have a small intimate wedding for our new date and Dee accommodated us with no question. We had our dinner in the maple room and we danced the night away in the drawing-room. We had breakfast together the following morning in the drawing-room which was so special and the best decision we made moving to the smaller rooms. Our family are still talking about the food, service and warm welcome shown to them all weekend. Our family were together throughout the weekend. It was such a special occasion. We can't recommend the County Arms Hotel enough. Dee is a lady and a credit to the hotel and she is just a pleasure to deal with.

Eoin, who I have not seen in years. He was so welcoming. Dee and Seamie were exceptional across the board. On the night of our meal tasting we had a lovely girl, Dearbhla, serve us and she was so helpful and friendly. I would most definitely recommend County Arms Hotel for your wedding (or any function). The food and service was top class. Keep up the good work guys, we will be back.

The hotel is set in from the road with big lawns and lovely gardens, a lovely spot to let the kids play. The gardens have lovely flowers and vegetables within a walled setting - great for pictures. There is a very friendly feel to the place.

Deirdre and Seamus were great at putting us at ease and making us feel welcome on the day. The food was gorgeous and plenty of it. We had our reception upstairs in the hotel in what was the original house and it has lovely character features and is self contained, which was fantastic. Just perfect for our intimate reception. The Covid measures were followed and everyone felt safe. Really enjoyed the day and would recommend.

because they were always on top of everything. On the day, they were amazing. Everything went perfectly. We had our ceremony in the Maple Room and it's a perfect venue. Guests are still raving about the food, from the carvery rolls on arrival to the hogroast at midnight. The meal itself was fantastic, delicious and perfectly timed. The County Arms also sourced music for our drinks reception and the residence bar. I would highly recommend as they were great and the party started immediately after the ceremony and didn't stop until the small hours. Our photographer was so impressed with the grounds, he got some fantastic pictures and I cannot wait to see our album. I really cannot recommend Conor, Barry and especially Michelle highly enough

were treated like royalty and so too were our guests with the fab food and drinks that awaited our arrival...with music in the bar and a great atmosphere...the craic wasn't long to get going! Everything went off to a T and it was all very relaxed, helped by the friendly staff who joined in with the banter throughout the night! We just can't thank the hotel management and staff enough for really making our day and night an absolutely amazing experience!! Our guests are still raving about the food and how fab the hotel is (all 283 of them!). I would recommend the County Arms hotel in a heart beat to my closet friends and family...3 of our guests have since booked it for their own weddings; I think that says enough!

from our friends wedding we knew the county arms was a front runner,

we met with Conor when we went to look at the venue, he sat down with us and gave us his time going through all the options, it was clear to us at that stage that they valued our custom and there was a nice personal touch to it, with the family run operation,

our wedding days was a fabulous experience, the venue, the music, the food were all amazing, The county arms is ahead of the rest when it comes to hosting weddings on every aspect, I couldn't recommend the county arms highly enough

wedding, the hotel has a fabulous ball room which can work for any size wedding, beautiful reception area and gorgeous gardens at the back of the hotel.
The food throughout the day was top class and superior quality. The service on the day was also excellent. All the staff in the County Arms are professional and well trained. My guests are still talking about the great food and service, a lot of them have commented that 'it was the best wedding they were at for food and service'.
I highly recommend this hotel as a wedding venue. I look forward to attending weddings in this hotel in the future.

were delighted with the results on the day. When we met to organise things it always felt like meeting with friends.

It helps of course that the hotel amd grounds are immaculately maintained, a photographers dream location. With the all glamour and warmth of a Country House, cosy corners to suit all the guests and fabulous accomadation.

What really and truly swung it for us when deciding on our venue was the food ????. The quality and quantity of food available will not be beaten. The management are really invested with the menus. They are proud of whst they offer so standards will never dip. My husband and I live on the coast and to have seafood options in the Heart of Ireland that rivalled what we eat at home blew us & our 130 guest away! Service was fabulous on the day. Table service for the bar during the meal. The evening buffet is still a hot topic of conversation amongst our friends. Several of whom dubbed it ‘the best wedding ever’

We had a SUI celebrant and had our ceremony at the hotel. It was relaxed and fun& everything we wanted it to be. I don’t often make recommendations but I can say for sure that I recommend the County Arms Hotel.

wedding, allowing us to enjoy the happiest day of our lives without any stress whatsoever. For us, it was essential that our guests be well fed. We invited guests from every corner of the country (and beyond) and as each guest arrived they were met with a warm welcome and hot food that was greatly appreciated. The food was truly amazing and many of our guests still comment on how it was the best food they ever had at a wedding. It goes without saying that the main meal was excellent, but a personal highlight was the midnight feast. The feast included suckling pig, curry, crepes, ice cream and more served up by the impeccably attired County Arms team. The hotel is sumptuously decorated and the garden provided an elegant backdrop to our wedding photographs. went into Birr town to get me something that I needed which was a major inconvenience for him but greatly appreciated by me. He also appeared with an ice cream during the afters food when I was too busy talking to get to the buffet. It's easy to forget that the County Arms have so many weddings going on every week and month because when you deal with them they are so attentive to your needs and eager to put in place what you want on your big day that you forget they are dealing with so many other couples at the same time. You always feel like you're their top priority.
I'm so happy we made the choice we did to go with the County Arms. We were so happy with how the day went.

service in any other hotel in the country -it felt like you were their little sister" and that genuinely was the case even from the early planning days spending time with Connor - where any special request for the day was automatically met.
The hotel is so versatile – we were unsure whether to go for a summer or Christmas wedding as either option offers such unique settings. At Christmas we could have had our drinks reception in the hotels newly refurbished lobby and fabulous drawing rooms with log fires and Christmas decorations in abundance or during the summer they have a fabulous walled garden for our guests to enjoy. We opted for the latter and were fortunate enough to have been blessed with a fine day. The hotel gardens were beautiful and the perfect setting for our drinks reception. Guests walked up the rose lined garden path and there was a real feeling of enchantment as they entered through arch way gates to an idyllic walled garden. The week before the wedding my reception music fell through (stress you don't need your wedding week) and Connor just swopped in and secured the most amazing band for us - just one of the many things they went above and beyond the line of duty with.
One of the highlights of the day was the food and from the very moment guests arrived to the drinks reception the tone was set - we were going to get to enjoy the most delicious delicate food throughout the day. The hotel offers many canapé options for the bride and groom to choose from. There is everything from freshly made duck pancakes to a seafood trolley which consists of an oyster and Guinness station to many more sensational canapés that are served throughout the duration of the drinks reception – the options are endless. Everything we choose was served outside and was amazing. On the day my husband and I were welcomed into a tremendous champagne tower - the atmosphere was amazing and I was so elated arriving in after having our photos taken to see the party in full swing, everyone enjoying themselves. The hotel is so classy and elegant and everything from the get go was presented with such finesse. Adeline in the hotel took care of the floral arrangements which were amazing and really created an opulent yet warm atmosphere.
The meal was incredible! This hotel offers the best tastiest food I have ever had at a wedding. The range of options to choose from for the meal is endless also – they have every cut of beef - cooked to your liking, along with lamb, chicken, fish or vegetarian options. The menu package we went with offered 2 starter options for the first course, 2 soup and 1 sorbet option for the second course, 3 main course options for the third course, 2 desert options for the fourth course and the meal was finished with tea and coffee, petit fours and a cheese board. I consider myself and my husband massive foodies and we were blown away by the standard of all the food they served...everything was delicious and presented fabulously. Despite having a large wedding of over 300 guests the dining room felt very intimate and the level of service during the meal was impeccable for all guests – generally each table was served each course simultaneously.
The midnight reception was amazing also. The hotel again will take your breath away with the amount of choices they offer you for this stage of your day. You can choose everything from prawn or chicken stir fries cooked in front of you and served in Thai take away boxes to freshly made crepes and ice cream cones or bacon and turkey butties to fish and chips options –there really is everything to choose from and it is equally as delicious as the meal.
The residence bar has a lovely intimate feel to it and really helped keep the party going well into the early hours.
There is no other hotel in the country I would have chosen or would recommend more than the county arms. The entire team deliver the most unique five star wedding experience I could of ever wished for and you really couldn't organise your special day with a nicer bunch. I sincerely want to thank each and every person on the county arms team from the bottom of my heart for making our wedding day everything we could have wished for.

The entire weekend was a pleasure, friday evening's dinner set the tone for the weekend, Seamus and Jane together with all the staff ensured that Saturday was relaxed and enjoyable - everything was looked after with a smile! I must compliment Leslie for looking after us at the top table at dinner. And I had lovely little chats with Michelle, Grainne and Claire over the weekend too.

It has been declared 'best wedding ever' amongst our friends, we only wish the day had felt longer, it really goes in the blink of an eye!

knowing that we were going to get the best day we could ever ask for. Even on the weekends leading up to the wedding day they were only a phone call away if we needed to discuss anything. The County Arms has an excellent reputation for weddings and we had eaten there several times before and the food and service is absolutely incredible. The rooms, the gardens, the food the service and all the staff are the best you could ever ask for. Before the big day arrived we had our tasting and we have to say that the food and service was flawless and carried out to the same standards and expertise as the meal on our big day. When the big day finally arrived we pulled up to the hotel, red carpet rolled out and we were greeted by Conor and Barry and a glass of champagne. They had also been there to greet all our guests who arrived before us. The food on arrival was fantastic and the main meal was absolutely five stars. We also had an evening buffet which was a meal in itself and plenty of it. People from all over the country know of the County Arms and the excellent reputation for food and professional staff. We could not have asked for anything more of the County Arms. From the moment you come up to the beautiful Hotel to the stunning gardens, beautiful food and professional staff, it truly is a day that will never be forgotten. We did not have to worry about one single thing on our big day thanks to Conor and Barry and all the staff. The County Arms truly is the best that you can get and if you want the best of the best on your big day then The County Arms is the place to go. never to far away all day and don't go to bed until your last guest goes to bed not matter how early or late it is. The gardens are the next wonderful sight you see which were in amazing condition and fabulous for all your wedding photos. Which meant we went straight from the church to the hotel all our guests say us arrive and we got to spend some time with them before all our pictures were taken on the grounds of the hotel with our photographer Sinead Ni Riain. It's so much nicer to not have to stop off in difference places along the way for photos and miss out on time with your guests. We next proceeded into reception for our arrivals buffet which was amazing and so many options to choose from and be with our family and friends. We then had all our photos taken but had a band playing in the bar and our friend the amazing illusionist Steve spade to wow our guests while we could not be with them. We were then called for dinner which we had chosen the menu for at a previous date. The food was absolutely amazing. All of our guests loved the food and were delighted when the waiting staff went around with seconds and thirds. Not that you would need it but it's nice to try a bit of everything on offer. One very nice touch was that all through the meal Barry and/or Conor (the owners) would call to each table to ask your guests if all was ok! After the speeches everything was cleaned up really fast. They really do keep to the planned times of the day. Everything worked out as planned for our wedding day. The band started to play and we were all dancing the night away working up a hunger for another feast. At midnight , a parade of chefs preceeded out of the kitchen with an amazing buffet from a pig been carved before your eyes to ice cream cones. The band started up again to give us a chance to work off all the food again. After the band finished the residents bar opened for all our guests and of course a guitar appeared and a sing song started and some baskets of food came out again to keep us going. No matter how late it got the staff were still as friendly as ever. I couldn't have asked more off all the owners and staff at the County Arms . They really do go all out to help make your wedding day super special and for that I thank you all so much. I know my guests were amazed at the quality of the food and facilities at the County Arms and so was I and my husband that's why they were our no.1 choice no other hotel came close . We had the best day of our lives and no doubt that in a big way was down to the hospitality of the County Arms Hotel.
My parents were married there forty years ago and this year my brother had his wedding reception there also.
When we attended his wedding with our newborn baby in April we received the hospitality and friendliness that we are accustomed to from the hotel staff from the year previously.
I firmly believe that irregardless of the size of your wedding the county arms will meet your needs and the bar service, culinary menu and atmosphere won't be topped by any other venue in the country.
We wish the County Arms Hotel continued good fortune in doing what they do best, giving a newly married couple the best day of their lives.
