Langtons Hotel Kilkenny is a family owned and run hotel, renowned for being the jewel in Kilkenny’s medieval crown. The hotel offers genuine hospitality, wonderful food, impeccable service set amidst comfortable and luxurious Four Star surroundings. Situated on the vibrant John Street in Kilkenny City Centre, we are only a moment’s walk to Kilkenny Castle, the River Nore and all the many attractions and amenities the city has to offer.

Langtons Hotel was established as a bar in 1938 by Ned and Bridie Langton, offering food, beverages and bedrooms to weary commercial travellers. Redesign and expansion continued over the next 70 years though we continue trading on the original tradition of incredible service, character and charm it is now complemented by 21st century technology and values.

With four venues to choose from within Langtons you really are spoilt for choice. Langtons Ballroom, is a spectacular room, boasting 20ft ceilings, ornate cornicing and hand painted silk wallpaper. This room is the delight of any Bride and Groom. The ballroom is a self-contained venue, complete with it’s own private bar, access to a unique garden bar and private conservatory. The Langton Ballroom is suitable for any wedding party size from 40 guests up to a comfortable maximum of 340.

Set Theatre, created by London based designer, David Collins, is an incredible venue, one that must be seen to be appreciated. ‘Set’ is suitable for a private civil ceremony, a full wedding reception or evening reception, the perfect space for 20 guests right up to a maximum of 108 of your most favourite people. Adding to the delight of ‘Set’, is the private courtyard where your guests can relax and revel in this chic private space.

Harry’s Bar is suitable for a more intimate civil ceremony or wedding reception of between 6 and 40 guests. Recently refurbished, the ambience is enhanced by subtle lighting and candlelight, adding to the magic of any special day.

The Garden Room restaurant has been recently refurbished by Gild & Cage and is an exquisite room for small, medium or large weddings. A naturally bright room, the Garden Room restaurant offers a unique experience with an ambience of sophistication and old world charm.

Bridie’s Bar and General Store is the latest venture by the Langton family and a perfect addition to any Wedding arrival reception in Set Theatre or for ‘day after get-togethers’. A stunning take on an old world bar and general store. Take a walk into the general store and pick up some old world items before you stroll through the saloon doors into the bar itself. In the bar you will be greeted by a beautiful tiled floor, superb wood panelled walls, pewter and marble counters. The next gem in this wonderful place is the exotic walled garden with ample seating in Victorian styled bus shelters.

After looking through what seemed like an endless number of wedding venues, Langtons caught our eye due to its great reviews, its fair pricing and its unique spaces and decor. We went down to do an initial visit and met with Sean, who was immediately engaging, attentive and very accommodating. We …

got a tour of all of the spaces, met some of the excellent staff and stayed over, enjoying the hotel and all that Kilkenny has to offer.
After making the reservation, it was very plain sailing. Any time we had questions or queries, both Sean and Louise were very responsive and helpful. They gave us advice, recommendations and helped us sort out our guests with a lot of different things (even if they weren't staying in Langton's itself).
We took our parents down for the wedding tasting, and it was superb. We met Michala, who looked after us so well and who also looked after ourselves and our wedding guests on the day! She was so friendly, professional, and nothing was too much!
We also. had the pleasure of meeting the barman Sean, who was great chat, great craic and pours a great pint and. makes a mean cocktail!
The wedding itself was beyond anything we could have hoped for. We got married in the set theatre, string quartet, flowers, candles and all of our friends and family. We had the drinks reception both inside and outside, had an illustrator and a performer. The guests all commented on the decor of the Set Theatre, Pewter Bar and the Ballroom. They appreciated the attentive staff, and nothing was too much. We had a guest who was a wheelchair user, and things could not have been easier for them.
The wedding meal was delicious, the food and wine kept coming out, and everyone really enjoyed it. The manager in charge of service in the ballroom was just excellent; she checked in with us multiple times and made sure everything was just right for us.
Kilkenny itself is an excellent town to get married in for photos & exploring. Thank you, Sean & team for making our day what it was, P&J

I cannot praise this venue enough! From start to finish they were everything you could want from a wedding venue. Sean, Louise and the whole team were so accommodating, so good at responding to my many queries and so helpful in every way. Planning a wedding from overseas I thought would be so …

stressful but they took care of everything and the whole day went seamlessly, nothing was too much trouble. The staff were all so friendly too which was lovely.

The venue is stunning with so many different areas that you almost forget it’s all taking place in the one venue and the areas are all so stunning you need to add very little. And the food, guests are still talking about it. So so happy with our decision and I can’t imagine our day having taken place anywhere else.

Also, I don’t know if it’s the done thing to talk about price but I found Langtons was so reasonable compared to other venues we looked at which wasn’t really a deciding factor but didn’t hurt. They were flexible with package inclusions to make sure we weren’t paying for things we didn’t need to and were honest and transparent from the start. In an industry that often feels like you’re being taken for a ride, I feel so lucky to have dealt with a venue that honestly seems to do it for the love of it and that passion shone through.

anything we needed, they delivered or found someone who could. They helped us to choose vendors giving us lists of suggestions we could research and review on our own. They made every vision we had come true.
Once we arrived in Ireland the week before the wedding they were so attentive and made the entire process so seamless. Every inspirational photo I provided and every small request I made were perfectly executed, and the day came together better than I could have even imagined! There wasn’t a single hiccup the entire day, I was in disbelief at how seamlessly the day went & wish I could relive that night again and again! accommodate every request and made us feel so at ease in the lead-up to the big day. On the day itself, the entire team at Langtons were incredible — warm, professional, and so attentive to us and our guests.

We received so many compliments about the beautiful food, the atmosphere, and the stunning venue. Day Two in Bridie's Bar was just as special — relaxed, stylish, and perfect for keeping the celebrations going with family and friends.

Langtons exceeded all our expectations. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate such a special occasion, and would highly recommend it to any couple planning their wedding.

Thank you again to Sean and all the staff — you helped make memories that we’ll treasure forever.
