Langtons Hotel Kilkenny is a family owned and run hotel, renowned for being the jewel in Kilkenny’s medieval crown. The hotel offers genuine hospitality, wonderful food, impeccable service set amidst comfortable and luxurious Four Star surroundings. Situated on the vibrant John Street in Kilkenny City Centre, we are only a moment’s walk to Kilkenny Castle, the River Nore and all the many attractions and amenities the city has to offer.

Langtons Hotel was established as a bar in 1938 by Ned and Bridie Langton, offering food, beverages and bedrooms to weary commercial travellers. Redesign and expansion continued over the next 70 years though we continue trading on the original tradition of incredible service, character and charm it is now complemented by 21st century technology and values.

With four venues to choose from within Langtons you really are spoilt for choice. Langtons Ballroom, is a spectacular room, boasting 20ft ceilings, ornate cornicing and hand painted silk wallpaper. This room is the delight of any Bride and Groom. The ballroom is a self-contained venue, complete with it’s own private bar, access to a unique garden bar and private conservatory. The Langton Ballroom is suitable for any wedding party size from 40 guests up to a comfortable maximum of 340.

Set Theatre, created by London based designer, David Collins, is an incredible venue, one that must be seen to be appreciated. ‘Set’ is suitable for a private civil ceremony, a full wedding reception or evening reception, the perfect space for 20 guests right up to a maximum of 108 of your most favourite people. Adding to the delight of ‘Set’, is the private courtyard where your guests can relax and revel in this chic private space.

Harry’s Bar is suitable for a more intimate civil ceremony or wedding reception of between 6 and 40 guests. Recently refurbished, the ambience is enhanced by subtle lighting and candlelight, adding to the magic of any special day.

The Garden Room restaurant has been recently refurbished by Gild & Cage and is an exquisite room for small, medium or large weddings. A naturally bright room, the Garden Room restaurant offers a unique experience with an ambience of sophistication and old world charm.

Bridie’s Bar and General Store is the latest venture by the Langton family and a perfect addition to any Wedding arrival reception in Set Theatre or for ‘day after get-togethers’. A stunning take on an old world bar and general store. Take a walk into the general store and pick up some old world items before you stroll through the saloon doors into the bar itself. In the bar you will be greeted by a beautiful tiled floor, superb wood panelled walls, pewter and marble counters. The next gem in this wonderful place is the exotic walled garden with ample seating in Victorian styled bus shelters.

couple getting married there this year. We will cherish the memories we made in the year leading up to and including our wedding day, and this is largely due to how accommodating, generous, and friendly Sean, Louise, and all the staff at Langton's are.

Sean and Louise are full of excellent suggestions and insights and have an excellent vendor list. The main dining room is beautiful when it's empty, but the Langton's staff made it absolutely stunning for our wedding. The Set Theatre is such an asset and was an excellent way to break up the night for our guests. Bridie's was perfect for our day 2 and made everything easy for our guests. The bar staff were excellent, and nobody waited long for drinks. The serving staff and all the hotel staff are very friendly, but they also couldn't do enough to help you - nothing was ever too much hassle.

We loved Langton's from the moment we arrived, but it was amazing to hear that we had stayed at Langton's wedding, and guests felt the same. About half of our guests were travelling from America for the wedding, and they felt so comfortable and welcomed by all the staff at Langton's. We've received compliments since our wedding day, with several guests saying it was genuinely the best wedding they've ever attended. Planning a wedding and the weeks leading up to it was stressful, but when we arrived in Langtons the week of the wedding, we felt completely at ease and excited about what was to come.

To Sean, Louise, and every single helpful, friendly, generous staff member at Langton's in Kilkenny: We could never express our gratitude enough. Thank you for helping us have our dream wedding.

doesn’t stop at Sean and Louise. Everyone, the barman we had and the evening staff in the room, was just so good at what they did. The food was amazing, piping hot !! We had our whole day, start to finish, in the set theatre, and it was magical. The bedrooms are amazing, and the breakfast was amazing. There is not one single thing I would change about our day in Langtons. I just wish we could do it again xx thank you

any question, even last-minute panic ones. Our guests were in awe of the venue, many of whom had travelled from the west to the heart of Kilkenny. There are so many photo options indoors for a rainy day and in Kilkenny itself, where Langtons is perfectly positioned. We knew once we got engaged, this would likely be the spot and not a single regret here. Would recommend this location to anyone recently engaged, you'll have no regrets. convinced. Seán was so relaxed and knowledgeable that we were immediately sure we could trust him to make sure we had the best day possible. Both he and Louise were so prompt in all their communication and in answering my questions. Langtons is a spectacular choice for those who want an out-of-the-box venue. Getting married in the Set Theatre felt so intimate, and we had the best craic dancing with the band later in the evening. I don’t know if there’s a more beautiful ballroom in the country either! We are so grateful to Sean, Louise, and all the staff for helping us have the most special day.
