Maryborough Hotel & Spa, Cork

My name is Andrew Dunne, Myself and my wife Helen Power had the joy of getting married in your hotel on the 20th of September 2012. This is just an email to say thank you to your hotel on behave of all our guests and ourselves on creating such a brilliant atmosphere in your hotel. Everyone had an amazing time and we are still getting compliments on how smooth and relaxed everything went. All our guests were amazed with the standard of the food and the level of service provided by each and every one of your staff throughout out the hotel, From the girls on reception to the waiters and waitresses in the restaurant. We had a few fussy eaters and even they said they cleared the plate of food as it was so good. There were one or two little stories told to us by our guests that really impressed us, one of our guests asked would it be possible to get a green tea instead of a normal one after the dinner The waitress who was serving the table duly obliged to the surprise of our guest as there has been times when other hotels have not being as obliging. On the night of the wedding I asked the security guard down by the smoking area downstairs would we be able to have a few chairs to sit on outside as myself and a few of the lads intend on having cigars and would like to sit down, this was not a problem to him and off he went and got us six chairs, no hassle, no fuss ,no bother These may same like little things but to myself and Helen they meant a lot and were part of making our day. A few individuals that stood out for us over the time we dealt with the hotel..... Elaine, our wedding coordinator, lovely woman and a joy to deal with anytime we met or talked with Elaine she allowed us to bounce ideas around on what we wanted to do and then would give her opinion on whether it would work or not and if she felt it might not always came up with a little solution to the problem. She was always available to us so I would make sure to keep her as she is one of the good ones. Dominic, a pure gent and a pleasure to have had him involved in our wedding. He approached me on the morning of the wedding and told me to make sure myself and Helen enjoyed the day and that he would always be within 20ft of us for the day making sure everything went the way it was meant to and through to his word he was, during my speech I had a prop put aside and when I turned around to use it at first I couldn’t see where it was but then out of nowhere Dominic appeared with the prop and handed it to me, Little things like this made the day feel that little bit more special. Roy and Alan behind the bar, We first met the two lads when we did our tasting in June and when we left myself and Helen both hoped the two lads would be working the weekend of our wedding and sure enough they were, They both remembered myself and Helen straight away and we all caught up chatting just like we had at our tasting. The lads are a credit to your hotel with their chat and banter that they had with ourselves and indeed all our guests. A group of our friends would particularly like to thank the lads for the sandwiches they sent out to them on the afternoon after the wedding as they were having a few cures and the sandwiches helped them through till the evening. My guests would also like to compliment the lads on their cocktail making skills, keep it up lads! Martin, our bar man out in the marquee also a gent, hope all is well with him and his wife’s new arrival. Jenny on reception, absolute pleasure, nothing was ever a problem for her to deal with and always had a smile on her face. Also the young porter who had to slave bring up the bits and pieces up to the honeymoon suite, fair play cause there was a lot and even after going up the stairs a fair few times still made sure that everything was where it should have been and always with a smile. Marie in reservations was so helpful in the build-up to the wedding, any updates on guests booking the rooms that I need were always sent to me straight away and unfortunately we never got to thank her while we were there To some up the email, you have a unique and wonderful team in the Maryborough hotel and we cannot thank you enough for the way everyone at the wedding was treated, Our day couldn’t have been so good without the help of all your staff, We would appreciate if you could forward this email on to the relevant staff mentioned above We look forward to returning on our first anniversary to see how the renovations in the bar have gone, and we hope to possibly return before then too. We recently had our wedding in the Maryborough Hotel on the 1st of August 2011. In the run up to the big day the wedding co-ordinator was excellent and extremely supportive as we only gave her less than 5 months notice. On the day the staff of the hotel were very attentive but not over powering, they were keeping everything flowing quietly in the background. The marquee is a fantastic addition to the Maryborough, its a relaxing start to the evening proceedings and ensures all the wedding party stays together before dinner. In relation to the food it was of an extremely high standard, a guest of ours commented that they felt like they were out for dinner in a good restaurant rather than at a wedding where sometimes the food can just be slapped up to you, from the arrival canapes to the night time finger food everything was of good quality and most impotantly tasted good. From our point of view we were well looked after in the run up to the wedding, on the day and also the following days. The Maryborough is truly an exceptional venue for a wedding and offers fantastic value. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone considering a wedding or any other special event. Michelle

Hi there, I just got married on the 4th of August in Maryborough. I rate this amazing place five stars. Day one of booking this venue felt right. As I don't live in cork anymore and live far away I needed a best friend to be there every single step of the way and I found that from the first day I met sinead ,Maryborough's wedding co-ordinator. It meant so much to feel so unique and in a way felt like we were the only couple to have ever got married there. Many hotels didn't give me the reassurance like maryborough hotel did. All our guests travelled from as far as hong kong, we even had a celebrity chef at our day and the feedback from the venue ,the staff and the food was out of this world from everyone. Maryborough and its staff made our day the best day of our lives. Thank you maryborough .You deserve all the awards and recognition for the hard work you do . Lisa xx

We chose The Maryborough for our wedding reception in July 2010 after being at a friends wedding there a few years earlier. Everything exceeded our expectations from the service the staff gave is, the food, to the outdoor dole for our drinks reception. We loved the day and so did our guests. Would highly recommend it to couples looking for the perfect wedding venue. Laura

We had an absolutely amazing day in the Maryborough Hotel. The service was second to none. The Manager and staff were fantastic.They were extremely professional! The venue, food, rooms and bridal suite were top class and we were so proud to have our guests celebrate with us in the hotel.
