Recently taken over by Só Hotels, The Castle Oaks House Hotel and Estate is a Stunning Georgian House built in the late eighteenth century. Our Georgian House is set in 26 acres of beautiful mature gardens & woodlands that lead down to the banks of the River Shannon. An idyllic backdrop for stunning wedding photographs for both summer and winter weddings. The Castle Oaks is on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Castleconnell.

Our restored Georgian Manor House retains many of it original features including the magnificent original sweeping staircase. Our newly renovated banqueting Stradbally Suite still shows the history of the house featuring Stained Glass Windows from the former chapel. The Stradbally Suite as well as our stunningly manicured gardens are also registered venues for civil and humanist ceremonies.

A warm and welcoming atmosphere awaits each couple and their guests at the Castle Oaks. Only the couples guests reside in the Manor House giving the property an exclusive feel with additional accommodation available for your guests in our courtyard suites.

The Castle Oaks is renowned for good food having received numerous awards. Our head chef has designed outstanding menus with many choices to suit each taste and budget from fresh local Irish produce.

Where to start...I guess with my very first phone call to the hotel. I had the pleasure of speaking with Martina and that was it, without even meeting Martina or visiting the hotel, I knew this was the exact place to have our wonderful celebration. Shortly after that Mike and I visited the venue and …

from the moment we stepped inside the door it was just perfect. We met Martina (Wedding coordinator), then Mariam (Accommodation coordinator). The lovely staff at Reception, the lovely staff in the restaurant, the lovely staff at the bar. One person after another is as lovely as the last person. Martina and Mariam had their work cut out to manage this 64 year old bride who really didn't know what was needed or suitable and from start to finish, they had all the right suggestions and very soon both Mike and I felt totally at ease that our wedding celebration was going to the very best day and it was. Oh my goodness, from the moment we arrived, it was pure magic. The ballroom looked amazing, such a beautiful place to have this wonderful day. The room itself is so pretty, stain glass windows, lighting, seating , everything perfect. The waiting staff under the professional, gentle guidance of Trish, were superb. The attention to detail brought tears to our eyes (happy ones). The food was the best you could possibly ask for, delicious from starter to dessert. The service at the tables was prompt enough but not rushed (with a little surprise). You'll have to have your wedding there to experience this surprise! If you are thinking about where you would like to have your special day, look no further than the Castle Oaks House Hotel. The guests who attended the wedding and especially those who stayed over 1, 2 and some 3 nights were mighty impressed and I certainly hope that they take the time to write a review. All Staff were exceptional and looked after us so very well, especially Josephine, Maggie and Stephanie. We wish we could name everyone!

We were so happy with everything on our wedding day and in the build-up to the day. Martina and all the staff were great and so helpful.
The team on the day really looked after the guests and made us feel so welcome The food was brilliant and so much of it.
