Once Upon Arrival

Imagine your wedding car arriving at the entrance of the hotel, you step out onto a luxurious red carpet with your guests waiting to toast your arrival with elegant flutes of Prosecco.

Hand in hand you make your way through our opulent marble foyer, a harpist playing, as you join your family and friends for gourmet canapes with our expert team looking after your every need before calling you into your dedicated reception.

Eat Drink and Be Merry

From intimate weddings taking place in the luxurious Morgan & Plunkett Suite or larger weddings taking place in our Classic Ballroom wedding venue, you and your guests will be greeted with the splendour of crystal chandeliers sparkling, Silk lined period panelled walls, luxurious table linen, elegant candelabra topped with fresh flowers & personalised menus resting on the tables.

Assisted by our dedicated service staff a personalised seating plan will guide you and your guests to their seats, your arrival will signal the beginning of your reception.

Between toasts to your happiness our award-winning Head Chef and his team will ensure you and your guests enjoy five sumptuous courses, each dish a reflection of the finest, local produce in season.

Once dinner is cleared it will be time for your first dance as a married couple before the rest of your friends and family join you to dance the night away. Before the evening entertainment ends an evening Buffet of mouth-watering bites will be laid out for you and your guests. A bar extension can be availed of to keep the party going until the early hours.

Special wedding accommodation rates are available to your guests on the night of your wedding. For guests not staying the night we would be happy to arrange taxis.

Should you wish to continue the festivities the next day we would be delighted to host your Day After gathering and can offer a BBQ or Buffet option in one of our four award-winning restaurants.

Firstly can I say we adored our day and that was in no small part down to you guys. We felt no stress whatsoever during the drinks reception and meal. You guys really had taken all the organisation and responsibility out of our hands and it was just lovely to show up and be present with our guests.

At no point did we feel rushed or that we had missed out on something. The food was divine and the atmosphere exactly as we had hoped.
As with all days I imagine things don't go totally according to plan but you guys kept everything ticking over and just touched base with us. It was fantastic.
The décor was beautiful and the overall vibe from start to finish was just a joy to be a part of.
I loved your suggestion of a few minutes upstairs for canapes just the two of us when we first got back. It was probably my favourite moment of the day. The penthouse and rooms were beautifully presented and we really appreciated the help from the porters throughout our stay. The drinks reception was perfect. Everyone remarked on the fact that they had a number of drinks and got a few bites so all very happy.
The kids room was a roaring success! As a couple who love spending time with family, looking after our smallies was a big thing for us and I have to say the space and the care the kids were given was astounding. They all had a total ball and it meant alot to their parents and us.
The set up for DJ and band was seamless and we loved that tables could stay put so we felt the room worked really well. Finally, the staff. The kindness and efficiency of the staff we dealt with over the few days was astounding. Every single person we dealt with was an utter joy. Nothing was too much to ask and we really felt like we were being looked after- so much so we didn't want to leave! My family are already talking about coming back next Christmas to mark the anniversary.

recommend this, it was amazing value for money, including a beautiful wedding car that brought us from home to church to hotel (our driver Joe was gas, absolutely made the day!). The food was divine, definitely the best wedding food I have ever eaten, and the room was so gorgeous. The Christmas decorations did add a lovely touch, but it is beautiful all year round! Everything went off without a hitch on the day, with Jim and the team running a tight ship! We would like to say a special thanks to Lynda who did such an excellent job organising the whole day. None of our guests have had a bad word to say about the venue, from the reception to the meal to the hotel bedrooms, and it was the perfect size for our wedding of around 140. We had the use of the penthouse for the night, which was gorgeous, and we got some lovely photos from the balcony

On the day of our wedding she definitely didn’t let us down either. The food was excellent, so many of our guests commented on its quality. The venue was perfect with such a lovely flow from the entrance hall, bringing us into Souths Bar before finally sitting for dinner in the ballroom. James and his staff took over then with the same enthusiasm and professionalism we had received from Lynda. He was brilliant too, ensuring everything was so perfect for us. We wouldn’t have changed a thing.
The Imperial Hotel staff were second to none and left no stone unturned. From Christy in the foyer (a total gent) to the ever available concierge (I didn’t get his name), to Lynda, James and their teams we cannot thank you enough. You made our day so special and we wouldn’t have changed a thing. Our time in The Imperial was fantastic and it is a place we will only have the fondest of memories of.
We will definitely be back down to visit and would highly recommend it as a wedding venue for anyone who maybe interested. However, only consider it if you’re looking for something that’s going to beyond your expectations. The hotel and staff here don’t seem to settle for anything less.

the Imperial ensured that we got everything we wanted and for excellent value. We were given lots of options for food -even when it came to our more exotic requests - and we were given the opportunity to taste everything in advance. The function room itself was decorated beautifully and all our guests said what a beautiful venue it was and how amazing the food was. We also loved the room we got - the penthouse offered stunning views over the city and with ample space. Overall, we couldn't think of a bad thing to say, everything was exceptional!
