One of the biggest perks for us was the ability for guests to park their car and not have to touch it again until going home. Everything you could possibly need is right on your doorstep — it truly felt like a mini holiday for everyone.

From the first time we were shown around the hotel by Elish, we fell in love with the place more and more with every step. Then we met Ian, the wedding coordinator, and from that point on, we knew we were in the best hands. We first crossed paths with him at Cork WedFest in January 2024, and from that meeting right through to the moment we checked out after the wedding, he was absolutely superb.

Ian’s attention to detail and calm, can-do attitude made everything feel effortless. He thought of things we hadn’t even considered — and any time we did have a request or an idea, the answer was always, “No problem, that’s all sorted now.” His level of professionalism and customer service is honestly second to none.

To say Ian and the entire team at Actons exceeded our expectations is an understatement. The day flowed perfectly from start to finish — we didn’t have to worry about a thing. We are beyond happy and endlessly grateful.

We can’t recommend Actons enough — not just as a venue, but as a team who genuinely care about your day. We’re already looking forward to making it a tradition to return every June for our anniversary — a place that now holds such special memories in our hearts.

and a few extra bits from ‘To Have and to Hold’. After the ceremony, we had the drinks reception on the patio, which was laid out beautifully, and we were blessed with gorgeous weather. The lawn in front of the hotel overlooking the water was the backdrop for some of our wedding photos, which turned out so well. The staff were so nice, helpful and efficient. The food was outstanding, but our friends still remark on it frequently (we opted for the fillet steak and cod). The wine was lovely and in full flow. The small touches make a big difference and when we returned from taking photos at the old head one of the photos was printed in colour on everyone’s menu, this was a huge hit among guests. We had a great evening and danced the night away. The Tayto sandwiches in the resident's bar were also another big hit! The wedding coordinator, Ian, was so calm and collected. Nothing was too much of an ask, and he thought of everything!
All in all, it was a fabulous experience. The food was gorgeous, and the venue was stunning. I had a great day.

We honestly didn’t have a clue what we were doing organizing a wedding but Ian was extremely helpful suggesting time frames and ideas etc the food was amazing and the staff were excellent as I said I couldn’t fault one thing!

I would 100% recommend Actons for your big day!

them enough. The build up and the day itself was so smooth and fun, it’s what everyone would hope for when planning such a big event: the hotel staff, the rooms, absolutely everything was perfect. It was the most relaxed environment which really allowed for everyone to just completely enjoy themselves. I wish I could do it all again. Ian is a superstar and we’re so grateful that we were lucky enough to work with him for our big day.

the team went out of their way to make us feels special and nothing was too difficult for them. They went above and beyond what we could have expected. Many of our guested commented on how impressed they were with the food and service at our wedding and how they found it much better than some of the five star hotels they had been to recently for weddings.
I can't recommend Actons Hotel and Ian enough, best service you could ask for.
